Happy 2026! I’m taking some time this morning to look back on 2025. Oddly, the past year involved only a couple kitchen projects, and a whole lot of bathrooms. And unfortunately, I only got photos of a few. There were many challenges and many successes, mixed in with a lot of really great people - my contractors, subs, clients, and industry friends. I’ve learned a lot and will continue to learn. I’ve got some fun stuff already lined up for this new year and I’m looking forward to seeing where 2026 takes me!

Wow! The gingerbread house displays at tonight were fantastic! There were so many amazing entries. I absolutely loved being a part of it. I chose to create a gingerbread model of my own Ron Molen home. It was fun and challenging and stressful, and I’m so glad I did it!

I’ve been waiting until the project was 100% finished before sharing final photos of my own kitchen remodel, but let’s be real - it will never be fully finished. So, while I’m in the middle of learning how to apply Roman Clay on a fireplace, I’ll share what is done, and what we’ve been loving for several months now, then update once I eventually get pro photos. A client once told me her kitchen remodel changed her life. And after going through my own personal kitchen transformation, I get it! Huge shoutout to my awesome GC and for being the best people to work with! Also to for dealing with this giant island and my need to make a seam disappear (they nailed it and my countertops are gorgeous!). Pieces from and have added both function and style. Now if we could just get a coffeemaker with an integrated water line hookup (unfortunately our initial kickstarter investment was a flop)…

I’ve been doing so many bathroom remodels recently! I was looking through old projects for a tile install example, and came across this photo. I love this basement bath, and don’t think I’ve shared it before. The colors and patterns were so fun to work with!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything, but it’s not due to a lack of anything worth posting. There’s so much I want to share! But for now, here’s a little eye candy to start the weekend with. This is a little bath we miraculously squeezed into the second floor of an old downtown SLC home.

The slat wall is finished! This entry wall is a focal point, and we didn’t want the symmetry to be ruined by the coat closet door added during the renovation. This vertical walnut slat wall is a transition from the exterior vertical siding to the walnut cabinetry in the adjacent kitchen. This was installed as a DIY project by , who performed some miracles in measuring and cutting for the challenges here: outside corners, ceiling angles, beam notches, door hinges, and the door opening.

Another KBIS in the books! It was educational, inspiring, fun… and SO EXHAUSTING! I’m taking today to recover and spend time in the mountains with my family, then I’ll be ready to start next week rejuvenated and motivated!

A full height backsplash is visually stunning. Here it’s interrupted by a minimal metal shelf from that will serve as an art ledge and also a tablet holder (because if you’re stuck doing dishes you might as well watch Netflix!) Also showcasing the new(ish) Litze faucet (with a knurled handle that hides fingerprints so well) and a glass rinser.

Afternoon vibes. I miss this project! I took these photos in December but as you can probably tell from my lack of posting lately, life has just been too hectic. But I’m here, and I’m working, and I’ll try to do better!
