Financial Stewardship

These past few years it has hit me hard that money is a form of energy and it is absolutely 100% my responsibility to make sure my energy in all areas go to what I feel are great places and great things.

I realized a while ago, but even more so these past few years, that I have been tricked. I have been lied to and manipulated by nearly everything I was told to just blindly trust so I could be an unaware slave. I learned about corporations and governmental agencies that I thought were fantastic actually were doing awful, awful things. I was spending or sending my money there to something I realized was pure evil at the highest levels. Shame on me then, but now I am aware.

My money now only goes to what I KNOW are good people and good causes. That is my responsibility, that is my stewardship. There are still things I don’t like I feel I have to spend money on, but it definitely has improved. I’ll spend more, if need be, to support what I deem as good. The same goes with my energy in general.

If I am willing to spend money with you then I probably think pretty highly of you.

I believe so many of us just go with convenience, doing what is easy, instead of following the money of these organizations and finding out what their actions really show. It seems more of us are becoming aware of this yet we still have companies loading chemicals in our foods in the US that they will not allow and/or are not allowed to even sell in other countries because they are so harmful. This is one example of so, so many.

I sure hope we start demanding more from people we do business with and for. Not easy, but unfortunately, necessary. The lies and deceit have got to go. No more. My money will no longer go that way.

Geese - Teamwork - The “V” Formation

When I was in College our College Basketball Coach gave us players a talk about teamwork. It was all about geese and why they fly in a “v” formation. It stuck with me. I really enjoyed it so I figure I would share.

When geese migrate flying either north to south or south to north they fly in what we call a “v formation.”

The goose at the front of the “V” is the leader, at that time, with all of the other geese receiving some “lift” assistance from the goose in front of them in this “Flying V” formation. It makes their flight easier allowing them to fly further with less effort. If a goose falls out of formation they realize really quickly that it is much harder to fly it alone.

The geese all take turns leading with the goose at the head of that formation taking on the flight with no assistance. When that goose tires another flies to the front to take over.

The belief is that the geese “honk” at each other too, especially the ones in the back cheering the other geese on. We all know what true encouragement does to help us do more and be more.

The other cool thing geese do during this process is if a goose gets sick or injured and is struggling two other geese will fall out of formation with the injured one to assist that goose. When they are ready they will fly together to catch up to the group.

I really enjoyed this perspective on teamwork, through the wisdom of the geese, when my coach presented it to us. I’m glad he did. It stuck for me and has been a fun reminder as I see birds fly in a “v formation.”

A real life example of being able to go further easier with true peers instead of taking long flights solo.
