We are excited to spotlight Lindsay Richards, an alumna of the Institute’s student program and a current mentor in our mentorship program. “Sorenson was my first introduction to financial modeling,” she says. “Beyond that, I really learned about how much my personal bias impacts what I think of a potential investment, and I learned to really incorporate the thoughts of other people and perspectives before I jumped to a thesis on any particular company.”
Lindsay was part of the Accordion team for 5 years, most recently serving as a Vice President on the Turnaround and Restructuring team. She is gearing up to begin her MBA at The Wharton School. “I'm honestly inspired to learn the ins and outs of a business so that I can be a competent leader in the future,” she says. “I'm inspired to think more strategically and understand the long-term vision so that I can make a stronger impact on my current and future clients and help them solve real issues.”

Adults over 50 represent one of the most powerful economic forces of our time, driving more than 50% of U.S. consumer spending and projected to command $65 trillion in global spending by 2030. By 2053, a third of Europe, a quarter of America, and nearly two billion people globally will be over 65.
To address this growth, Next50, a private, $300 million foundation whose mission is to promote independence and dignity for an aging population, engaged the Sorenson Impact Institute to design an “Aging Investing Roadmap.” The roadmap is a toolkit to help direct capital toward scalable solutions and integrate aging considerations into long-term investment strategies.
🔗 Read more about this project in this article, featuring insights from Dr. Nzinga Broussard, Senior Director of Impact Measurement at the Institute, and Peter Kaldes, Esq., President and CEO of Next50.

Hear from Lis Green, Sorenson Impact Institute Director of Impact Investing, in a recent Utah Business article exploring gender parity in Utah's Venture Capital (VC) landscape.
Lis discusses the importance of being represented in the industry and being supported by peers, including "male champions." She also emphasizes the innovation that comes with more women decision-makers in VC, saying, "There is so much economic opportunity that sits outside the parameters of very narrow, traditional venture pattern recognition."
