Obstacles in life are nudges in the right direction. Seriously. If you look back on all the hard stuff you’ve gone through you can always find a way how it actually ended up working in your favor.
For example: I had cancer when I was 14 and lost my leg. This ended my gymnastics career but it brought me to snowboarding.
I didn’t get into the high school of my dreams but my second choice high school surrounded me in love after my cancer diagnosis.
I lost my job and that opened the door for me to focus on my social media content.
So many things happen in our lives daily outside of our control or plans but when you trust that it will always work out… It always will.

What are you currently reading?
Books are my love language. Which is funny because until I was 22 I considered myself a non reader. Now, I’m usually reading a non fiction and a fiction book at the same time and I ALWAYS have a book in my hand (or on my phone).
What changed? I realized that reading is an easy, accessible way to grow yourself mentally, spiritually, and personally. Self education and development is my hobby 😂🙈

If they haven’t “been there done that” why do you accept their opinions as truth?

I talk about the fear of failure on todays Gold Medal Mindset podcast.
The fear of failure is a massive reason so many people don’t go for their goals. The sneaky issue with the fear of failure is you may not even realize you have this fear. It shows up in so many different ways. I tackle these fears and challenges on the episode sharing personal stories, mindset tools, and new perspectives to remove this fear so you can achieve your goal. We don’t just achieve our dreams here. We do them with mental wellness and a deep love for ourselves and all of this is shown on todays podcast ❤️

Beliefs are like buttholes, everyone’s got one and sometimes they stink… oh wait isn’t that about opinions? Same thing 💁🏻♀️
A habit I created for myself is to check in with my “i statement” beliefs. Whenever I hear myself think “I’m not good at that” or “I should’ve done this” I pause and find the root cause of that belief. I’ll usually find that this thought was something I believed because I heard it from someone else or I don’t trust in my ability to learn.
Here’s the thing, sometimes these beliefs serve us because it keeps us out of danger, but they also can keep us from moving forward in our life and in our goals. Check in with your “i statements” today and refuse the ones that hold you back and instead challenge yourself to believe in what you’re actually capable of.

It wasn’t until 2021 when I finally found my voice to speak out and fight for change. It took me realizing that whatever I’m experiencing isn’t special. These injustices happen to other people, women, and minorities constantly and it needs to change so someone needs to step up to make it happen. I was fighting the battle knowing that the benefits were greater than myself. This mentality makes it so much easier to show up and do the work. Empowerment comes from service. Who else are you serving?

Stress causes overwhelm, burnout, and pain not high performance.
You can achieve at ease once you learn what is causing your stress.
For me, stress was from an underlying need to perform in order to feel worthy.
Here’s the thing, no amount of achievements will give you worth. You have to believe your worth regardless of where you end up.
When you finally release what’s causing your stress youll find it’s so much easier to perform at your highest potential and you’ll have way more fun in the process.

A quote that’s changed my life: how we spend our day is how we spend our life. Big things happen in our life because we do the small things to make them happen. If those small things don’t make you happy now, they won’t make you happy later.
Don’t put off what you need to do today (tasks, rest, connections with people) because those things will create a better life.

If you’re not 100% connected to your goal it’s going to be a fight to complete it.
Motivation doesn’t come from cute posts or inspiring videos.
Motivation comes from within you. It comes from connecting your goal to something you can’t live with out. Sometimes it’s easy to find your motivation. Sometimes you have to search for it.
Either way, finding your why(your motivation) should be the first step in the goal setting process.

Think about the last time you were happy. You let that feeling be felt. You enjoyed the feelings in your body and you enjoyed it as it moved through you and disappeared… As you should!
Now, think about the last time you felt something negative. Maybe you tried to rationalize it away. Maybe you tried to “trick” your mind into thinking positive.
Here’s the thing, that’s unnecessary.
We were meant to feel ALL the feelings.
Instead of trying to block it away, try to sit in the discomfort.
You’ll find that just like happiness and other positive emotions they are fleeting. The feeling flows through you, sometimes intensely, but is gone.
How do I do this? I close my eyes and I tell myself to feel it all. I feel the emotion in my stomach, in my heart, in my head, and I feel it flow and diminish as my breaths deepen. It’s an AMAZING and POWERFUL tool that I you can add to your tool box to move through emotional blocks.
This is so powerful I use it while competing. I feel the nerves. I feel the pressure. I allow it to flow so I can be clear minded and present when I compete. 10/10 recommend.
