There are a few more items needed to help fulfill our teachers wishlist at Overton. If you are able, please help step in for this community and provide one item or cover the whole grade with items needed for our staff and students to be able to thrive.

EC Pre-K: dry erase markers and 2 pack Velcro dots
Kindergarten: circle time center pocket chart and printer ink
1st grade: primary lined whiteboard and primary lined notebooks
3rd grade: pencils and printer ink
5th grade: laminating sheets, dry erase whiteboards and printer ink
Math coach: math reward certificates
Library K-2: Bananagrams to work with reading

We are thankful for all the hard work our teachers put into caring for our students. Here’s a way to help care for them! Below is the Amazon wish list of items our staff have asked for to help them do what they do best, which is teach, engage, and support the kids in this community.

It’s that time of year! The PTA is putting on the annual Boo-Bash Party for 3rd-5th graders on October 25th, 3:30-5:30pm.
This is an after school dance for students to let loose and also have fun. Admission is free, but please send your student in with some cash as this is a fundraiser and there will be snacks, raffles and Halloween accessories to purchase!

Tonight!!!! Skip the dishes and head to Panera to help support Overton. Spread the word! This is an easy way to support the school and feed your family. If you already have dinner plans, grab some bagels for the morning!!

Join us for our next PTA meeting, on October 9th at 5:30. We’ll discuss the upcoming BooBash for the 3-5 graders, teacher wish lists, future fundraisers and new ideas.

All are welcome to come. The pta is for anyone in the community who want to support the school. If you don’t have childcare… bring them!!!

Want to support the school and not have to cook a meal? Go to Panera next Wednesday, October 9 and use code “FUND4U.” Take it an extra step by sharing this online so friends and family of our Overton Explorers can also support the school.

Our Overton staff is working hard to make a wonderful start to the school year! Let’s thank them by stocking the teachers lounge with soda so they can grab and go! Please sign up for a slot to bring in sodas to the front office. (Harris Teeter is currently running a deal for Buy 2 Get 2 Free if you want more bang for your bucks).

Our first PTA meeting of the school year will be on Wednesday, September 18th, at 5:30.
The PTA sole purpose is to support our students and teachers at Overton Elementary. You can help as much or as little as you like. We hope to raise money through business support and fundraisers to allow our students to go on more field trips or classroom learning enhancements. The PTA also focuses on encouragements for our staff who work hard for our students every day, as well as fun ways to excite, uplift and motivate our students. The PTA is not just for parents or guardians, but anyone in the community who would like to support our school.

Feel free to bring your child if you do not have childcare. We welcome their input as everything we do is for them!

Would you please consider helping? The kids school would love extra support to be able to go on field trips for hands on learning as well as extra enhancements for the classrooms. This is a title 1 school full of extraordinary kids, who are a huge part of our community, and our future leaders. Please help investing in their lives and education through giving.
