Hello WUSD! Below you can find the highlights from our October meeting. Be sure to mark your calendar for the November meeting on 11/4.
TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD TIME:
Principal Lily O’Mary introduced the new school secretary, Ashley Ledo.
Miss O’Mary and Principal Mike Mutshnick recognized the recipients of the Golden Ticket Awards, given to students who achieved a 3 or 4 on the Language Arts section of the spring 2026 CAASPP assessment. 49 students achieved that score and received a certificate and a check for $250.
COMMUNITY INPUT:
Mallory Miller addressed sanitation concerns in the Toro Park School restrooms. Mrs. Uccelli and Mr. Mutshnick did respond, indicating that the situation had been brought to their attention and is being addressed at the site level.
Rachel Reddick addressed concerns regarding the food service program.
DISCUSSION/INFORMATION ITEMS:
Enrollment: Current enrollment is 584 students.
Curriculum: Miss O’Mary reported on the district’s curriculum activities, including an update on the Renaissance Learning platform that is being implemented across the district, and shared baseline assessment information.
Mrs. Uccelli gave a presentation summarizing the feedback received at the district’s Listening Session to ideas, priorities, and hopes for the future of the district. Slides are available to view on the district website.
