We are thrilled to welcome Harvard Law School Professor Lawrence Lessig to Willamette Law on Monday, September 21. He will present his lecture, “All We Have Left: The Next Life for Democracy.”

Professor Lessig, once cited by The New Yorker as “the most important thinker on intellectual property in the Internet era,” has turned his focus from law and technology to “institutional corruption”—relationships that, while legal, weaken public trust in an institution—especially as they affect democracy.

The lecture will begin at 5:00 p.m. in Room 201 of the Truman Wesley Collins Legal Center. It is open to members of the Willamette University community.

One of the best things about going to law school in Salem?

You don’t have to go far to be surrounded by Oregon’s legal community.

From the Oregon State Capitol to the Oregon Supreme Court, courts, government offices and the many attorneys who call Salem home, our students have a front-row seat to the law in action.

And then there’s the other side of Salem: coffee shops, river walks, local restaurants, beautiful parks and plenty of places to take a study break.
