Now this is the website I found during Covid that turned my whole way of teaching reading upside down. From this website I learned about the science of reading, and from there I got interested in learning more about dyslexia and other reading difficulties. Fast forward to today where I am getting my masters degree, tutoring, and starting my first year as a kindergarten teacher. I love learning and I can't wait to pass on my knowledge to you and your kiddos.

Using brain-based learning strategies, Secret Stories transforms phonics rules into secrets that learners want to know, providing a multisensory phonics approach for struggling & beginning readers.

If you are looking for some excellent decodable readers for your kids, this is a great website. The books are free online, or you can order the paperback sets for a fee. What is nice about these books is that the use of decodable text forces readers to practice their decoding skills instead of relying on pictures or guessing. Brain research tells us this strengthens the growing neuronal connections in the brain.

Just some of the new tools I am excited to use in kindergarten. I have already started using them to help engage some of my tutoring students. What I love about tutoring is helping build confidence in these wonderful kiddos. Sometimes all they need to see is what is already inside of them. I am just there to help pull it out with a bit of Miss Bee magic 🪄 🐝
