Tissue paper + rubbing alcohol instead of messy summer tie-dye…I’m convinced it’s the most therapeutic project out there 💕🙌🏻✂️🌈

I’m dying to do this again with girlfriends and their kids—here’s how it works:
1. Cut or tear bleeding art tissue paper into little pieces (you can find it on Amazon or at the craft store—just make sure it’s not regular gift wrap tissue!)
2. Arrange your colors on a white cotton shirt (or tote, pillowcase, anything cotton—go wild!)
3. Spray generously with rubbing alcohol—the more you add, the more the colors melt together 🎨
4. Let it dry overnight, then peel off the paper.
5. Heat-set your dye (highly recommend you don’t skip this step!!!!) Details below and DO NOT wash in the washing machine 🚨 this is a delicate true hand-wash only item since the dye is so delicate (if you wash I the machine it’ll wash away).

The colors bleed like magic and leave behind the softest watercolor effect.
Bonus: it’s way less chaotic than traditional tie-dye—and actually fun to do with kids.

💡 Tips to make it last:
• Use bleeding art tissue, not gift wrap
• We worked in disposable aluminum trays and “baked” the shirts on low in the oven after they were dry to REALLY set the color.
• Heat-set with an iron before the first wash
• Wash inside out on cold (or hand wash!) and hang dry

Highly recommend for your next girls’ day, playdate, or slow summer afternoon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
