Big progress for BrighterBuddy! 💡

We’re currently expanding one of our school-based pilots with a group of Speech-Language Pathologists who are getting ready to explore BrighterBuddy with their students.

This week, BrighterBuddy was used with a student, and hearing that they enjoyed it absolutely made our day.

We’re excited to keep learning from SLPs, educators, students, and families as we continue building BrighterBuddy into something that can make a real difference.

🎉 Today is a big day for BrighterBuddy! 🎉

We’re excited to announce that BrighterBuddy is officially approved through the Texas Education Funding Assistance (TEFA) program! 💙

This milestone represents more than an approval—it represents more opportunities for Texas families to access BrighterBuddy and the support we’ve worked so hard to build.

What began as an idea inspired by one little girl has grown into a mission to help children build confidence in communication, social skills, and emotional regulation.

To every parent, educator, therapist, supporter, friend, and family member who has believed in BrighterBuddy—thank you. We truly couldn’t have reached this milestone without your encouragement.

This is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to see where this journey leads.

We’re looking for a few passionate volunteers who would have 5 - 8 hours available a week to help introduce BrighterBuddy to school districts, special education teams, therapists, and autism support programs.

BrighterBuddy was created from our real-life journey as a family raising an autistic daughter, and our mission is simple:
Help children build confidence in communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation — while embracing who they are.

We’re now reaching a stage where more schools and organizations are requesting conversations and we need help expanding those outreach efforts.

We’re looking for people who:
• Care deeply about the autism community
• Believe in inclusive support tools for children
• Feel comfortable speaking with educators, therapists, or district staff
• Can help present and explain the BrighterBuddy app experience
• Want to be part of building something meaningful from the ground up

This could be a great fit for:
• Parents
• Educators
• SLPs
• Therapists
• College students in education/psychology programs
• Autism advocates
• Anyone passionate about helping kids shine brighter

This one means a lot to us.

BrighterBuddy started with one goal — to help our daughter Rowan navigate the real, everyday moments that can feel overwhelming.

The conversations. The transitions. The social situations that most people take for granted.

We recently shared BrighterBuddy with Autism Speaks. While they don’t endorse specific products, they took the time to review it and added it to their internal resource database for families looking for communication support.

That matters.

Because it means families searching for help now have another option — something built from real-life experience, not just theory.

We’re still early. Still building. But this is real progress.

And if this reaches even one family who needs it… it’s worth it.

Rowan — the reason BrighterBuddy exists.

Today is World Autism Awareness Day.

For our family, this isn’t just a day on the calendar.
It’s personal.

Rowan experiences the world in her own way—full of curiosity, joy, and moments that don’t always fit into how the world expects kids to communicate.

And like so many families, we’ve seen how much she wants to connect… even when the words don’t always come easily.

That’s where everything changed for us.

I didn’t set out to build a company—I set out to help our daughter.

BrighterBuddy was created for kids like Rowan—to give them a safe, supportive way to practice communication, build confidence, and navigate real-life moments at their own pace.

Not to change who they are.
But to support them.

Because every child deserves to feel understood.
Every child deserves to be heard.
And every child deserves the chance to shine in their own way.

To every parent walking a similar path—you’re not alone.

One year ago, BrighterBuddy started with a simple goal:

Help autistic children feel more confident in real-life communication and social moments.

Today, that idea is real.

BrighterBuddy now includes:
• A Speech Zone for practicing everyday phrases
• A Social Skills Zone for walking through real-life situations
• A Calming Zone for moments that feel overwhelming

And while this is still early, we’re already seeing something important:

Kids don’t just need content.
They need safe, repeatable ways to practice real-life moments.

That’s where BrighterBuddy is headed.

We’re now focused on bringing this into:
• Schools
• Therapy environments
• Homes where structure and support matter most
