This one means a lot to us.

BrighterBuddy started with one goal — to help our daughter Rowan navigate the real, everyday moments that can feel overwhelming.

The conversations. The transitions. The social situations that most people take for granted.

We recently shared BrighterBuddy with Autism Speaks. While they don’t endorse specific products, they took the time to review it and added it to their internal resource database for families looking for communication support.

That matters.

Because it means families searching for help now have another option — something built from real-life experience, not just theory.

We’re still early. Still building. But this is real progress.

And if this reaches even one family who needs it… it’s worth it.

Rowan — the reason BrighterBuddy exists.

Today is World Autism Awareness Day.

For our family, this isn’t just a day on the calendar.
It’s personal.

Rowan experiences the world in her own way—full of curiosity, joy, and moments that don’t always fit into how the world expects kids to communicate.

And like so many families, we’ve seen how much she wants to connect… even when the words don’t always come easily.

That’s where everything changed for us.

I didn’t set out to build a company—I set out to help our daughter.

BrighterBuddy was created for kids like Rowan—to give them a safe, supportive way to practice communication, build confidence, and navigate real-life moments at their own pace.

Not to change who they are.
But to support them.

Because every child deserves to feel understood.
Every child deserves to be heard.
And every child deserves the chance to shine in their own way.

To every parent walking a similar path—you’re not alone.

One year ago, BrighterBuddy started with a simple goal:

Help autistic children feel more confident in real-life communication and social moments.

Today, that idea is real.

BrighterBuddy now includes:
• A Speech Zone for practicing everyday phrases
• A Social Skills Zone for walking through real-life situations
• A Calming Zone for moments that feel overwhelming

And while this is still early, we’re already seeing something important:

Kids don’t just need content.
They need safe, repeatable ways to practice real-life moments.

That’s where BrighterBuddy is headed.

We’re now focused on bringing this into:
• Schools
• Therapy environments
• Homes where structure and support matter most

Today is a very special day.

BrighterBuddy is officially live.

We chose to launch BrighterBuddy today on Profound Autism Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness for autistic individuals with significant communication and support needs. It felt like the most meaningful way to begin this journey.

Before anything else, I want to say thank you.

Thank you to Central Michigan University for giving me the opportunity to share the story behind BrighterBuddy and the mission that inspired it.

Thank you to KWTX News 10 for continuing to follow this journey and helping share BrighterBuddy with a wider audience.

Thank you to the Temple Daily Telegram for helping spread the word locally and allowing our community to be part of this story.

I also want to thank the GTN Team who helped bring BrighterBuddy to life. Turning an idea into a working app takes time, patience, and technical expertise, and I appreciate the work that went into building the first version of this platform.

I’m also grateful for my Dell Technologies family, whose encouragement and support along the way has meant a lot throughout this journey.

March 17 is Profound Autism Day — a day that shines a light on autistic individuals with significant communication and support needs.

It’s also the day we officially launch BrighterBuddy.

BrighterBuddy was inspired by my daughter and built to help autistic children grow confidence in everyday moments — from communication and social interaction to feeling proud of who they are.

Our goal has always been simple:

Every child deserves a Buddy who helps them shine brighter.

Launching BrighterBuddy on Profound Autism Day felt like the perfect way to begin this mission.

The app will be available tomorrow on iOS and Android.
