A shoutout to all the mothers I've worked with over the last four decades. I'm transitioning from hospital floor work to continued teaching, hosting a weekly mom-baby support group, and doing home lactation visits through the Lactation Loop. If any of you have the time and inclination, could you write a Google review of my postpartum care of you and your baby? Thank you for your support during my last phase of guiding new families into parenthood.

Dear Mothers: We're Not Meant to "Bounce Back" 06/27/2019

Please, every new mom read this or if you know one, send to her immediately!

Dear Mothers: We're Not Meant to "Bounce Back" The world needs the transformation motherhood brings about it us. The softening, the tenderness, the vulnerability, the shift in prioritization, the depth of love -- these are some of the qualities our hurting world needs most.

After giving up on ever teaching another group class here, some interest has been expressed over last couple weeks. I’m afraid to get my hopes up, but the thought of being able to teach one more childbirth class here before I leave excited & saddens me. Teaching here over three decades has given me more joy than I can possibly express. Your feed back over the years has made my heart sing! Here’s hoping for one more time of looking out at happy, expectant faces!

This quote just about sums it up completely! Couldn’t have said it better.

Laid back is the way to go! It corrects so many difficulties that come about from the mother-led positions. Come into the office and learn how before the baby arrives.

This is the perfect “set up” for an awesome latch that will guarantee great milk transfer and the best weight gain for baby!! This is what I try to teach everyday to new moms.

After working at Partners4Kids the last 5 years, I continue to hear one constant story from the new moms I see. They all intended to breastfeed their newborns at the hospital and when they came home. In the majority of cases, that's not how it went. When they finally find their way to me in the first or second week postpartum, most are supplementing with formula, have sore ni***es or low milk supply, which isn't what they invisioned. What happens??? Of course, my automatic thought/theory is that they didn't get the information BEFORE the baby came to make their intentions come true. Most of the moms I do see in the office have insurance and a small co-pay for an hours worth of breastfeeding education could have made all the difference in the world ! I'm going to try and get that message across over the next few months.

I now have six names of moms interested in the class. In order to set the date, I need deposits now dropped off with the receptionist at Partners4kids, where the classes are taught. P4K's is located in Lockhart Gardens (little KMart at one end) above Footlocker and across from Banco Poplar. Please email,
text or PM me your due date, phone # and email address, so I can get all info to you. Deposit is $125 in either cash or check.
Can't wait to meet you all and get started teaching!
