Lung cancer can be painful.

But there IS hope...

Here are three tips to help you manage pain and discomfort:

1 - Pain management options: There are many options available to manage pain including medications, physical therapy, and complementary therapies like acupuncture.

A study published in the journal "Pain" found that BELIEVING that the pain can be managed was linked to lower levels of pain and distress in lung cancer patients.

What does that mean exactly?

If a patient believes there are ways to manage the pain, a lot of them FEEL less pain.

Talk to your healthcare provider about the best pain management options for you.

2 - Stay active: Physical activity and exercise have been shown to improve fatigue, quality of life, and muscle strength in lung cancer patients.

Getting out of bed can be tough.

But even light exercise like going for a walk can help manage pain and discomfort.

3 - Make small changes to your day-to-day life to help with pain.

For example, using a heating pad or ice pack, taking warm baths, and practicing relaxation techniques like meditation or deep breathing can all help manage pain and discomfort.

I know…

Meditation sounds hard.

But a quick search on youtube will give you a lot of easy tutorials to follow. Try out a few and see which one works best for you.

According to the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, a mindfulness-oriented intervention, which included meditation, reduced pain and opioid use in patients with chronic pain.

Mindfulness and meditation = not needing as many pain pills.

But you know what else can cause discomfort?

Medical bills.

A lot of lung cancer patients have money problems after being diagnosed.

WARNING: Lung Cancer patients should avoid high dietary inorganic phosphate.

What is that? It’s an ingredient in some foods.

This is according to a study by the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.

The study found that “high dietary inorganic phosphate increases lung tumorigenesis and alters Akt signaling.”

But what does that mean exactly?

It means that if lung cancer patients eat lots of food with high amounts of inorganic phosphate, their tumors may grow faster than if they had a “normal” diet.

So what foods have a lot of this inorganic phosphate?

Harvard University says “inorganic phosphorus as phosphorus additives are commonly found in foods like processed meats and baked goods as well as beverages like soda, iced teas, bottled coffee drinks, and flavored waters.”

So lung cancer patients should speak to their doctors about this potential health risk.
Changes in diet can be stressful, but may help patients improve their quality of life, and potentially their outcome.

Another thing that can affect a lung cancer patient’s quality of life is financial stress.

👉 How Lung Cancer Patients Keep A Healthy Relationship After Diagnosis

Lung cancer - It's not just a physical battle, but an emotional one too. And the impact on relationships can be tough.

A lung cancer diagnosis strains relationships with loved ones…

But there IS hope...

Here are three tips to maintain healthy relationships and find support during your lung cancer journey:

1 - Communicate openly: Share your feelings, fears, and concerns with your loved ones.
.. A study in the journal "Psycho-Oncology" found that open communication between cancer patients and their partners led to improved relationship satisfaction and better psychological well-being.

Not only that, but getting support from loved ones can encourage patients to stick to their treatment plans, attend follow-up appointments, and maintain a healthier lifestyle.

This support, made possible with open communication, has a positive impact on how the treatments go and overall health.

Pretty important, right?

2 - Set boundaries: Everyone needs a little space every now and then.

It’s important to tell the people around you when you need some space.

.. A study in the "Journal of Clinical Oncology" found that setting expectations in cancer care can help maintain a sense of balance in relationships and improve patients' quality of life.

3 - Join support groups: Research has shown that participation in support groups can improve patients’ quality of life.

Additionally, cancer support groups can also provide strength to its members, raise public awareness, and help with fundraising if needed.

.. A review published in the "Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews" showed that joining a support group improved emotional well-being, and reduced depression and anxiety of cancer patients.

But you know what can also strain relationships?

Financial stress. With a lung cancer diagnosis comes more expenses. For some it also means it’s harder to work.

That's why we're on a mission to help lung cancer patients get up to 45 checks in the mail, without having to sue anyone.

In fact, an estimated 724,000 Americans have already received their Lung Cancer Checks.

It’s true. Lung cancer is a drain. It drains a patient’s energy… and also their bank accounts.

Over 30% of cancer patients suffer from “financial toxicity” according to Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers & Prevention.

This financial toxicity often makes cancer patients have a lower quality of life… and even have a higher mortality (death) rate.

It also adds unnecessary stress to your day to day living, and can have negative effects for your clinical outcomes, according to the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Luckily…

Lung Cancer Hero has found a way to get thousands of lung cancer patients up to 45 checks in the mail.

No need to sue anyone or even leave your home.

Here’s how it works:

1 - You have a call with one of the expert support staff. This usually takes no more than 30 minutes.
2 - If you qualify, you fill out some documents online.
3 - A law firm will request the “lung cancer checks” on your behalf from trust funds and send you the checks in the mail.

There is about $27 Billion dollars available right now.
