Obama Middle School offers hands-on, experiential learning for students seeking an engaging middle school experience. Barack & Michelle Obama Middle School is the district’s newest middle school. Located in a newly renovated building in the heart of the Summit-University neighborhood, Obama Middle School is purposefully designed for students and families who are interested in experiential, hands-on learning. The school day will be 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. School bus transportation is available from anywhere in St. This new school will start with sixth grade only for the 2025-26 school year, adding a grade each year to become a full 6-8th grade middle school by 2027. Apply for a seat for your incoming sixth grader at apply.spps.org.

There will be no school on Monday, March 16, due to the weather. Students should not report to school. This will NOT be an E-Learning Day. School is canceled.

Discovery Club and Adult Basic Education will be closed.

All other athletic events and after-school activities will be canceled, with exceptions made on a case-by-case basis. Varsity Athletics may continue as scheduled at the discretion of the Site Administrator.
