Join us tonight for the Parents Supporting Parents meeting at 5:30pm-7:30pm. We will meet in-person at our office on 225 University Ave. W, Suite 125, St. Paul, MN 55103. A light meal is provided.

Purpose:
Parents Supporting Parents (PSP) is a supportive space for Hmong parents and caregivers of children with disabilities to connect, share experiences, and uplift one another. Together, we honor our culture, support our children’s growth, and build a stronger community for our families.

Let's go Fishing!

Thank you to our Grantors, No Child Left Inside and MN Humanities, HECC and Empower to Thrive provided an outdoor fun day for families, FISHING! It was a windy, but super sunny day to catch some fish out at Keller Lake.

Families engaged in cultural conversations with one another around how the land our ancestors lived on provided a means of basic needs for them, such as food from fishing. Children experienced the simple pleasure of enjoying the outdoors with peers. Then, all together enjoyed each others’ company in learning from each other the stills and tactics of fishing!

Such a fun experience for everyone! Thank you to Empower to Thrive for their partnership and our community fishing experts, Sienna and Vanxter for sharing their expertise.

The beginning of school can bring excitement, worry, frustration, or sadness. Help children learn to recognize and name what they’re feeling.

Ask: "How are you feeling?"
Help them name the feeling.
Practice taking deep breaths.
Remind them it is okay to feel nervous, sad, or excited.
Offer comfort and reassurance.

Practice calming strategies before big emotions happens!

📣 We’re Hiring! Program Coordinator

Hmong Early Childhood Coalition (HECC) is seeking a Program Coordinator for HECC’s All About Me program. All About Me is a culturally responsive early childhood program designed to support young Hmong children and their families. The program creates opportunities for children to learn and grow through developmentally appropriate activities that incorporate Hmong culture, language, identity, and family experiences. Children and caregivers participate together in learning activities, take-home resources, and experiences that support children’s development and readiness for school.

The Program Coordinator will:
✨ Plan, coordinate, and implement All About Me early childhood sessions
✨ Develop culturally responsive learning opportunities that extend participants’ experiences
✨ Support teachers and teacher assistants
✨ Revise and update curriculum
✨ Support family and community engagement
✨ Collaborate with partners and stakeholders
✨ Provide trainings and maintain program documentation and reporting

💛 All About Me (ABM) — Fall 2026 Enrollment is Open!

Are you passionate about photography, videography, storytelling, and social media content?

HECC is looking for a Digital Media & Content Creation Intern to help capture and share the stories of our programs, families, caregivers, and community.

In this role, you’ll:
📷 Capture photos and video at HECC events and activities
🎤 Conduct short interviews and conversations with staff, caregivers, parents, and community members
🎬 Turn photos and video into engaging short-form content
💡 Work with HECC staff to identify meaningful stories and content opportunities
📱 Create ready-to-use content for social media posts

You’ll have the opportunity to build your photography, videography, interviewing, editing, and storytelling skills while helping highlight the impact HECC is making in the Hmong community.
