Socks take a long time. They’re an act of love. In just one of these socks, there is 14,210 stitches (I did the math). Every time I wrap the yarn around the needle, thinking about the person I’m making these socks for, I do it with love. In all 28,420 stitches to keep your feet warm, there is so much love.
If you want to learn how to share this love, I’d love to knit with you. Sign up for a private lesson with me at www.knitwithkayla.com/product-page/private-knitting-lessons

Yarn trick! Have a piece of knitwear that you love, but it has a snag or some other damage that you can’t repair? Salvage the yarn and make yourself something beautiful! I’m currently doing this with a sweater - it’s perfect because I know there will be enough yarn for the project already! Plus, you are saving clothing from becoming waste. Being a frugal crafter and saving the earth, what could be better?

Loving this cowl that was made in a private lesson! Still need to weave in ends, block, and add the drawstrings, but isn’t the lacework gorgeous? Pattern is Nest & Burrow by Sarah Burghardt Abram.
Want help learning new techniques or working through a pattern? A set of private lessons is a great way to do that. Message me or sign up on my website - link in bio.

Mistakes happen! And for that, I’m thankful for lifelines. Such a simple way to help tear back work and get on the right track again! What’s been your favorite knitting “hack” that’s helped you?

Starting new projects 36,000 feet above the Pacific Ocean! It’s a little cramped here for my liking, but the plane does have my favorite knitting show available (Grey’s Anatomy). What do you like to watch when you knit?

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve posted on this account, but for good reasons! I have been incredibly busy with other ventures alongside Knit with Kayla work (making projects and teaching private lessons). I recently passed my independent licensing exam for social work, and my husband and I have been traveling! Now that things are calming down, I will be back to posting regularly and starting to post on-demand lessons that you can purchase. In the meantime, please enjoy this photo of my husband and me just after sunrise at the top of a volcano, sporting some of my handmade hats (which you can order online with your own custom color choices!) 💙

I can tell they’re really going to be shorts! Definitely my most interesting shape that I’ve knitted to date.
Tomorrow I will be sharing new knitting class information… stay tuned!

Tiny stitches as I make a pair of pajama shorts!
I am working on some fun projects for Knit With Kayla that I will be announcing in the upcoming weeks… stay tuned!
