It was an AMAZING first day! 🎉 So much fun seeing students start the new school year at Benton Cardinals and Central High School SJSD, new memories, and plenty of excitement—but apparently, we were having too much fun to take pictures! 😂

The one picture we did manage to capture was the perfect way to end the day: at a pep assembly in our new Irish home, Lafayette Middle School! ☘️💚 A huge shoutout to the STUCO staff for helping kick off the year with so much energy!

Did you know that The Metallica Scholars Initiative (MSI) is a major workforce education program that provides direct support to community colleges to enhance their career and technical education curricula. These courses provide skills and services to students looking to enter a conventional trade or other applied learning program. And we have a partner institution right here in Missouri! Check out Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City.

It’s , and we’re taking our spotlight to the kitchen. Meet Jayden, one of our in WSU Tech’s Culinary Program.

Jayden shows determination and dedication to developing their craft and has displayed the ability to overcome setbacks and resolve conflicts. An extremely hard worker, Jayden is not only a full-time student but also maintains a full-time job, all while exhibiting a positive attitude and energy.

DHEWD has opened the 2026–2027 Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment Scholarship application. Students may now apply for fall and spring coursework via the State Financial Aid Portal. Deadlines are December 1, 2026, for fall and April 1, 2027, for spring.

Our students visited the Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum in Atchison, where they explored the life and legacy of aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart. They also experienced an virtual reality flight that brought her flight to life.

Last crew to take to the skies!

What an incredible way to wrap up an amazing week! Congratulations to Amayah, Jaxen, and Anabel on their Young Eagles flights. Here’s a compilation of some of our favorite photos from today, some taken by us and some captured by our students from the air. Seeing their excitement and confidence as they experienced aviation firsthand made this an unforgettable day.

Our first Young Eagles flights with XP Skyriders are officially underway! Nathan, Abiel, and Quez were the first three students to take to the skies, experiencing the thrill of flight from the cockpit. They received a certificate of flight, a log book and some amazing memories!

That’s a wrap on Drone Camp!
Congratulations to our 10 Drone Camp graduates and a huge thank you to NCMC instructor Rick Sharp for sharing his knowledge and helping our students succeed. Every student passed their final exam today and is now officially certified!
Tomorrow is Fun Friday, and we’re celebrating in the best way possible, with flights in a private airplane through Young Eagles!
