Central High School’s Decision Day event on Tuesday gave our students the opportunity to proudly represent their chosen schools and celebrate their Talent Search journey toward graduation and postsecondary success.

We are incredibly proud of all you have accomplished and cannot wait to see the amazing things your future holds! 🎓✨

It’s celebration season, and the 2026 Class of SJSD did not disappoint!

From scholarship winners to State of Missouri instrument and vocal medalists, Seal of Biliteracy recipients, theatre performers, Lampion and National Honor Society members, Academic Pin winners, Scholar Athletes, Cup winners, A+ Scholarship winners, NCAA athletes, students joining the workforce, military signees, and ROTC cadets — this class showed excellence in every arena. They are heading to MWSU, NWMSU, NCMC, UMKC, Missouri State, Truman State, KU, State Fair Cc, State Tech, K-State, Missouri, and as far away as Yale University!

They balanced practices, performances, rehearsals, competitions, homework, service projects, early mornings, late nights, and probably more energy drinks and cafeteria fries than anyone should legally consume.

But beyond the awards and accomplishments, this class brought heart.

They showed up for each other, made us laugh, made us proud, and left their mark on SJSD in ways that can’t be measured by medals or titles alone.

Today 16 of our amazing 8th grade Talent Search students took a big step toward their future with a campus visit to Highland Community College! 🎓

Students explored classrooms, learned about different programs, and got a glimpse of college life. Experiences like this help spark curiosity, build confidence, and show our students that their goals are within reach.

We’re proud of their enthusiasm and can’t wait to see all the incredible paths they choose! 💙
