We regret that there was an accidental omission of one of our wonderful Sports Hall of Fame Inductees from the coverage we included in the 2026 yearbook. It is a great honor to be inducted and we wanted to make sure we highlight Bob Every, as well.
Additional inductees recognized in the book included Jacob Schmitt, Heather Knight, and Margaret Zink.
Bob Every was a 1966 graduate who earned 6 varsity letters, two in football and four in baseball. He was awarded the 1962 Baseball Team MVP. He went on to coach for 11 years as the Lansing Community College Softball Coach. He received many accolades and accomplishments throughout his sports career:
8 years National Junior College Athletic Association Region 12 Coach of the Year
2002-2003 NJCAA Coach of the Year
2002 NJCAA National Champions
4-Time Michigan Golden Glove Champ in Boxing
3-Time Michigan Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) State Champion
1967 National Catholic Youth Organization Champion
1967 United States of America Boxing Team
1967 AAU National Championship Team
1992 State of Michigan Boxing Commissioner
1994 Greater Lansing Hall of Fame Inductee for Softball and Boxing
2009 Michigan Golden Glove Hall of Fame
2011 National Softball Association Hall of Fame - Coaching Category
2023 USA Boxing Alumni Association Lifetime Achievement Award.
