Please Get Out & Vote Tomorrow, Tues. Aug 15th! Here's the StG Chamber 10 Question Survey/Profiles of the StG City Council Candidates where it clearly shows I AM THE ONLY CANDIDATE THAT DOES NOT SUPPORT THE $2.4 BILLION LAKE POWELL PIPELINE! Why do us Utahns use more water per capita than anywhere else in the US? We will pursue alternative solutions & local available resources as well as lobby against the LPP! One incumbent answered "NOT SURE" on 2 issues & the other supports raising taxes! With Ballots mailed and Early Voting starting tomorrow, Tues August 1st, I have been getting asked, HOW DO YOU DIFFER FROM OTHER CANDIDATES & WHY SHOULD I VOTE FOR YOU?
First of all, I would like to extend a personal invitation to all for a "face to face" visit at a time & location of your convenience, preferably before the Primary. Your home, my home or a public location such as a Library, Restaurant, Office, etc is fine. Just let me know time & place & we will be there (contingent on schedule but will make every possible effort)! If you would rather call or text me, please feel free at (435) 879-9520, which is my personal cell phone.

As a 56 year young married family man and father of two children currently in Intermediate & Middle School, I represent and am very engaged with BOTH our growing retired population AND our expanding households with families and children!

I truly love St George & our “Dixie Spirit”! I have vigorously served & volunteered the last few years as a Legislative Chairman, State Presidential Political Director, Caucus Director, Communications Chair, School Council Chair, St George-Sign Review Board Member & MS Walk-Co Director, With 30+ years in business including as a VP of Sales for several high-tech companies, I bring vast experience, clear thinking and sound decision making!

As an Ambassador, Co-Committee Director & Mtn Bike competitor in the Huntsman World Senior Games, the World's Largest Annual Multi-Sport event with over 11,000 athletes in 2016, the 30th Annual which brings in over $15M into our local economy each year, Dixie Little League Coach, Course Marshall for the annual Red Bull Rampage, world's most extreme Mtn Bike event w/worldwide TV & Internet coverage of Southern Utah (Virgin, UT), Pickleball ambassador & SOUP member (Southern Utah Pickleballers), JAG-Jr Golf Coach & Caddy for daughter, hiker, camper, fisherman, current USSA Alpine Skiing Official & Talon Crew member (World Cup Downhill Course Crew) & all around outdoor recreation enthusiast who truly embodies all Southern Utah has to offer, I will be the MOST ACTIVE & ANIMATED CITY COUNCILMAN THAT YOU WILL BE PROUD TO HAVE VOTED INTO OFFICE!

Some of my top priorities & concerns for St George, the 8th largest city in Utah with alarming population projections are;

SAFETY for ALL citizens, especially for EVERY CHILD! leading into;

FIRST RESPONDERS; SGPD & SGFD, making sure we have the resources needed to ensure a safe city as well as staying ahead of the growing crime & challenges that come therewith.

WATER CONSERVATION versus a $2.4B Lake Powell Pipeline

Protecting the rights of our Citizens with LIMTED GOVERNMENT & even MORE LIMITED FEDERAL OVERREACH!

INFRASTRUCTURE & PROACTIVE SMART PLANNING

*I have reserved feelings about sharing this but it needs to be said, in addition to everything above that sets me apart from the rest, we lost our two older boys, Timmy-22 & Jason-26, ninety three days ago (3 months) on April 29th in a horrific triple fatality rollover on SR-18 here in St George! They were my stepsons, thus the different last name as I was their Dad for 15+ years! Details & short & clip of Tim's friend & witness can be seen here; http://www.stgeorgeutah.com/news/archive/2017/04/29/cgb-rsw-2-die-1-in-critical-condition-in-3rd-fatal-crash-on-sr-18-in-4-weeks/ #.WX-dHoTyuwU
I truly want to make difference and serve in their honor! I pledge to NEVER be a "Status Quo Joe", a Career Politician or a "Yes Man"! I am Not Afraid to Rattle Cages & Shake Up the Establishment some if needed! I will rally for Term Limits in StG, fight against Federal Overreach & truly represent WE THE PEOPLE, ALL people including those that have needed a voice for some time here in Southern Utah!

The Lt Gov's Election's office has made it super easy due to luck of the draw. Just remember to MARK THE FIRST NAME ON YOUR BALLOT, Marc A. Stallings. With this being a Primary Election for two City Council seats, you can vote for up to two candidates or you are allowed to mark only one in order for your vote to have the most effect in advancing a candidate on to the General Election on Tues. Nov 7th.
We truly value and sincerely appreciate your support!

With the utmost in respect & appreciation,
Marc A. Stallings

"Stallings, called water one of his “hot topics” and stressed the need for water conservation as well as the exploration of additional water resources but not necessarily the Lake Powell Pipeline due its potential $2 billion-plus cost.
“We can’t guarantee the Colorado River can sustain such a project,” Stallings said. “We need to look at conservation and the aquifers and our other resources available to us. The pipeline isn’t the only solution, folks.”
In the end, the pipeline may very well be the best solution, Stallings said, but he’s not on board with the project right now either. "Stallings, has been an active member of the state and local Republican Party organizations, said he was opposed to the pipeline idea for now, arguing that conservation should be more of a priority. "Why is it that Utah has the highest per-capita water use in the United States?" he asked. "It's time to start talking about conservation."
