🌟 STEM Baton Rouge Fellow Spotlight: Jaylen Lewis 🌟

Congratulations to Jaylen Lewis, a proud student of Math Science Arts East Academy and member of the STEM Baton Rouge Fellows 2025-2026 Senior Class!

Jaylen plans to attend LSU and major in Physics. His proudest accomplishment is being named Student of the Year for Iberville Parish, a testament to his hard work, leadership, and dedication to academic excellence.

A recipient of the Margaret Benton Scholarship, Greater Baton Rouge Outstanding Volunteer Scholarship, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Scholarship, Westside Charter Interest Group Scholarship, and Jose Alvarez Memorial Arts Volunteer Scholarship, Jaylen has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to both scholarship and service.

Looking ahead, Jaylen hopes to serve as an Air Force pilot, or continue his education and enter the Air Force after graduating from college.

We are proud to celebrate Jaylen’s achievements and can’t wait to see all that he accomplishes in the years to come!

Last week during our Summer Learning Program, our students learned all about helicopters and how they fly! On Thursday, they each created their own paper helicopter and tested to see if it would spin when dropped! 🚁

Can't make it to the polls on Election Day? Take advantage of early voting beginning today, Friday, June 12, and cast your ballot ahead of the June 27, 2026 Election.

Early voting is available at the Iberville Parish Registrar of Voters Office in Plaquemine, with additional temporary locations available on select dates in St. Gabriel and Rosedale.
