Congratulations to Joshua Olaoye, Markose Mesay, Salmaan Shire, Mujahid Mohammed Justin Halvorson, John Klein, Jaymin Swedlund, and Saadaq Shire, who participated in the DigiKey Collegiate Computing Competition VERSION 2.0.25. They were split into two teams of four and placed 3rd and 4th out of 25 teams. The 3rd place team of Joshua Olaoye, Markose Mesay, Salmaan Shire, Mujahid Mohammed won over $1000 in prizes for themselves and the department. 💸💻

Earth & Environmental Alliance and the Into the Wild Society are taking a trip to the 2025 Minnesota Bat Fest and we invite all wildlife enthusiasts to join!
Time and Date: Saturday, October 25th from 10 AM – 4 PM
Location: Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters at 3815 American Boulevard East Bloomington, MN 55425
This year’s theme is “Water is life: for bats and Minnesotans,” celebrating the connection between healthy waterways and thriving wildlife. The event will feature a full day of fun and educational activities, including:
🦇 Live Bat Programs
🦇 Explore the “Bat Cave”
🦇 Be a Bat Biologist
🦇 Bat House Information Station
🦇 Planting for Bats and Other Wildlife
🦇 Batty Crafts and Bat Trivia
Admission is free, and food will be available for purchase on site. You can use the QR code on the flyer or the link (https://tinyurl.com/2025BATFEST) for registration and carpool information. Carpool spots are limited, so please sign up soon! You are welcomed to transport yourself and friends to the event as well.
This event is a great way to learn about local conservation, meet others who care about Minnesota’s wildlife, and have some fang-tastic fun!
