Who wants to join us for jazz combos this fall? MUSP 158 is looking for instrumentalists who want to learn more about jazz and perform in small ensembles. Bass faculty Anthony Cox will be working with our students this year! It’s going to be great!

The St. Cloud State University Wind Ensemble performs its final concert of the year, entitled, “Dream Stories,” at 5 PM on Sunday April 21 at the Performing Arts Center - Center Stage Auditorium. The program will include a variety of works for concert band including His Honor March by Henry Fillmore, Listen to the Lambs by Marie Antoinette Douglas, Lucid Dreams by David Gillingham, Danzon & Chandé from Ritmos de la Tierra by Victoriano Valencia and Khan by Julie Giroux.
The St. Cloud State Wind Ensemble is comprised of 25 instrumentalists from all across campus and is led by Director Catharine Bushman. Tickets are $5/$3 students and free with an SCSU ID

Congratulations members for a great concert as members of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Band at the Minnesota Music Educators Association Convention in Minneapolis. They performed with Dr. Rodney Dorsey, Director of Bands at Florida State University.

The 5th Annual High School Honor Band is coming on March 22, 2024! Directors are invited to nominate their most outstanding musicians in grades 9-12 for this 1-day event.
This year’s event includes:
• Select ensemble under the direction of SCSU Faculty Catharine Bushman and Christopher Fogderud
• Individual instrument sessions with SCSU Music Faculty& Buffet artist Preston Duncan, Saxophone
• Mini-concert by SCSU Wind Ensemble at 3:00 PM
• Third ensemble - Honors Wind Ensemble - to be added if interest allows
• $40 fee includes lunch and t-shirt for all participants

Come in costume, kids! Games and trick or treating starts at 5:30. The band plays at 6:30! The Eighth Annual Halloween Spooktacular Kids Fest & Concert, is Thursday October 26!
The finale includes a special performance that Wimpy Kid fans will love!!!

Join us this Saturday! The choral ensembles and wind ensemble from St. Cloud State University will present the highly anticipated "Music at St. Mary’s" concert 7 p.m., December 3 at the Cathedral of St. Mary in downtown St. Cloud.
This annual event features a sampling of the finest choral repertoire, ranging from exciting, new works to beloved choral classics. The concert will include performances by SCSU’s Concert Choir, Chamber Singers and Wind Ensemble.
Tickets at the door are $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and free w/SCSU ID. Cash or check only. .choirs

Join the SCSU Contemporary Music Ensemble for a free concert Thursday, Nov. 17 in the SCSU Performing Arts Center Recital Hall at 7:00 pm. The concert features guests Dr. Mark Springer, trombone, and St. Cloud's own Muggsy Lauer, guitar. Composers represented include the outlandish Zappa-esque music of Gene Pritsker; the ephemeral spoken word music of Eve Beglarian; and the joyously out music of African American composer Julius Eastman.
