Removing these monitoring buoys is a dangerous move since they provide important data on the oceans which create our weather. We will essentially be blindfolded and won't know what's happening until we feel the water lapping at our feet.

The Faroe Islands has conducted its first "grind" of 2026, killing more than 125 pilot whales and several dolphins. According to a Sea Sheperd Campaign Director: "...Pregnant females, unborn young, newborns, and small juveniles would not be considered legitimate targets. But in the Faroese grind, they are driven and killed indiscriminately." There is no longer a need for this antiquated practice. The demand for whale meat has dropped dramatically in countries where whaling still occurs and so should the continued funding of these grinds.
