WOW! What a way to kick off the new school year! 🎉

A HUGE thank you to our amazing high school volunteers who showed up and worked so hard! And to the 2 adult volunteers who gave their time to help us throughout the day — we truly cannot thank you enough! ❤️

A very special shoutout to Renee, whose vision for this event came to life! She worked incredibly hard to make it happen, and her number one goal was for our families to come together and HAVE FUN. Renee… mission accomplished! 👏🎉

Thank you to our incredible PTO Board members who jumped in wherever needed and kept everything running smoothly, and to our admin team for always supporting us and helping make nights like this possible!

We apologize for having to close the PE table early today! Unfortunately, we ran into a few unexpected issues, and our volunteers were no longer able to assist with distribution while also working hard to set up for our Back-to-School Block Party.
Rest assured, all PE shirts will be delivered to the PE teachers bright and early Monday morning and will be ready for your students! 💙🐢

Thank you so much for your patience, understanding, and grace as we navigate a few back-to-school bumps along the way. We appreciate our Terrapin families more than you know!

Next up, we'd love to introduce Heather, our Co-Treasurer! 💰📊

If you've ever wondered who keeps our PTO finances running smoothly, it's Heather! She works behind the scenes tracking every dollar, helping create and manage our budget, and ensuring our funds are spent wisely to benefit our students, teachers, and school. She also helps our board stay within approved budgets so we can continue supporting TCA in meaningful ways.
But Heather's dedication doesn't stop with the PTO!

Fun Facts about Heather:
💚 She is the proud mom of two wonderful kids.
🏡 She also serves as the Shearwater CDD Chair, helping lead and support our community.
💼 Heather works full-time while also helping her husband build and run their accounting firm.
📈 Before joining the family business, Heather spent 17 years as a buyer in the garment industry, where she built a successful career in business management and purchasing.

Whether she's balancing budgets, leading community meetings, supporting her family's business, or volunteering countless hours for TCA, Heather approaches everything with dedication, professionalism, and a willingness to help.

There truly isn't much Heather can't do, and we're incredibly grateful for the knowledge, leadership, and heart she brings to our PTO every single day.

Middle School Meet the Teacher Update 📚

We've received a lot of questions about whether middle school students should bring their school supplies to Meet the Teacher today, and where your student’s schedules can be found.

Here's what we recommend:
✅ Feel free to bring classroom community supplies such as:
Copy paper
Paper towels
Hand sanitizer
Disinfecting wipes
Tissues
Other shared classroom items

These can be dropped off with your student's homeroom (1st period) teacher.

📦 If you ordered school supply kits: Due to the recent computer system issues, our PTO volunteers were unfortunately unable to deliver the middle school supply kits to classrooms before Meet the Teacher.
All middle school supply kits will be organized and labeled on the stage for families to pick up today.

As we prepare to welcome you for Meet the Teacher today, please see below for reminders on accessing your student's schedule in Home Access Center (HAC). We will not be printing hard copies for you, as HAC is now live and you will be able to view them on your devices. Please keep in mind that we are continuing to balance classes and register new students, which affects our classes and offerings. We appreciate your patience as we work through this process!

Every great PTO needs someone who keeps everything running behind the scenes, and that's exactly what Camilla does! She makes sure everyone gets paid, writes the checks, deposits funds, keeps our financial records organized, and ensures our bills are paid on time. It's a huge responsibility, and we're so grateful for her attention to detail and dedication.

Fun Facts about Camilla:
💚 She is the proud mom of two boys who attend TCA.
🏖️ When she's not volunteering, she loves spending time at the beach with her family.
🎓 Camilla has a degree in Finance, making her a perfect fit for keeping our PTO finances in order.
💼 She also works full-time, balancing her career, family, and volunteer commitments.
📍 She moved to our community just over a year ago and jumped right into volunteering with the PTO. We are so lucky she did!

Camilla may work quietly behind the scenes, but her impact is felt in every event, fundraiser, and program we provide. Her organization, reliability, and willingness to serve help keep our PTO running smoothly.

Next up, we'd love to introduce Jessica, our Secretary & Parliamentarian! 📋💚

Every successful PTO needs someone who keeps everyone on track, and that's Jessica! She helps ensure our board follows our bylaws, keeps meetings organized, and makes sure we're doing things the right way. Whether she's helping reorganize our ever-changing PTO closet (which somehow never stays organized for long! 🤣) or keeping us accountable during meetings, Jessica is always there making sure everything runs smoothly.

Fun Facts about Jessica:
💚 She is the proud mom of twin boys who are heading into 2nd grade at TCA.
🏔️ Jessica was born and raised in Colorado.
👩‍⚕️ She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and spent nearly a decade caring for patients as a bedside nurse on a surgical telemetry floor before working in the ICU.
💻 She later earned her Master of Science in Nursing Informatics and now works full-time in healthcare technology.

👏 Between her full-time career, raising twins, and volunteering with the PTO, Jessica somehow still finds time to support our school!
Jessica brings organization, professionalism, and a thoughtful perspective to our board. We're grateful for her dedication and for helping ensure our PTO stays organized and operating at its best.

We had the pleasure of hosting a Welcome Back Breakfast for our incredible teachers and staff this morning! It was wonderful seeing both new faces and our returning Terrapin family as we kicked off another exciting school year.

Everyone is busy preparing their classrooms and counting down the days until they meet their new students. We can't wait to see all the amazing things this year has in store!
