On Wednesday, Miss Milan and I had the opportunity to go down to the Capitol to advocate for children, families, and early childhood educators.
Every so often we are given the chance to meet directly with Senators and Assemblymembers to share what the day-to-day reality looks like inside a preschool classroom and child care center. The early childhood field has changed significantly over the past few years, and it’s incredibly important that lawmakers hear directly from the people doing the work every day.
It was an honor to walk the halls of the Capitol and speak with so many legislative offices. Between the two of us, Miss Milan and I met with nearly 20 Assemblymembers and Senators throughout the day.
These conversations matter. They help decision-makers understand how policies and funding decisions impact programs like ours, the teachers who care for children, and the families who rely on quality early care.
It was an exciting day filled with hope and possibility. We will continue advocating to make sure programs like ours can provide high-quality care, pay teachers livable wages, and create the kind of nurturing, special environments that children deserve.
And I still found a way to rock a little one to sleep in the middle of the hussle!
Thank you for trusting us with your children and supporting the work we do every day.

I am so proud and honored to be recognized by Child Action as the Childcare Champion of the Year!
This award is not just for me, but for every teacher, parent, and advocate who believes in the power of play-based learning and in fighting for stronger support for child care across California. At Moore Learning, our mission has always been to create safe, joyful, and inclusive spaces where children can grow, explore, and thrive — and I’m grateful that both our work with children and our advocacy for providers is being uplifted and celebrated.
🌟 Introducing Parent Café (Open to All!) 🌟
I’m excited to share that I’ve just completed my training to host Parent Cafés with “Be Strong Families”, and I’d love to bring this opportunity to both Moore Learning families and the wider community.
👉 What is a Parent Café?
Parent Cafés are welcoming, supportive gatherings held once a month where parents and caregivers can come together to:
✨ Share stories and experiences
✨ Build friendships and support
✨ Talk about the joys and challenges of parenting
✨ Strengthen our community together
đź’ˇ We may also be able to provide childcare during the sessions to make it easier for parents to participate.
đź’¬ Interested in joining us?
Please email me at [email protected] or message me in the Playground app to let me know:
1. “I’m interested!”
2. What days/times work best for you
Let’s create a safe and supportive space where parents—inside and outside Moore Learning—can connect, learn, and grow. 🌱
