From one of the students
Today for Chapel we had a worship painting session. I’m not the best drawer but this painting was exactly what I needed to be reminded of.
The lion represents authority, power and strength.
The elephant represents patience, faith, trust and loyalty.
The lion is Jesus and we are the elephant. Often times we find ourselves in sessions of despair and questioning where we are in life. Feeling almost hopeless because we don’t know what next step to take. Feeling as though what you do isn’t enough and no one sees your efforts.
But… the beautiful thing about the lion being Jesus is that he lives inside of us and he gives us the strength, power and authority to keep going even when you don’t know the destination.
The red paint represents his blood. The elephant having it on its face reminds the elephant of it’s why. Why they can’t throw in the towel no matter how hard it is.
Jesus dying on the cross for us should be enough to keep us rooted in the last thing he has said to us.
In times of weakness, he is your strength.
In times of sadness, he is our joy.
In times of hopelessness, he is our hope.
