MuraMusic exists to praise, love and serve God through music and words of encouragment. Bette Murakami, originally from Larimore, ND, received two BA degrees from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, in music and elementary education. She is a songwriter, author, classroom and music teacher, private piano instructor, choir and drama director, worship leader, accompanist and pastor’s wife. Stephen Mura
kami received his BA music degree from Concordia College and directed elementary music and high school choirs for 21 years. He then graduated from Nazarene Bible College and has pastored churches in Honolulu, HI and Sacramento, CA. In addition to being a pastor, and vocal instructor, Steve has been a worship leader for over 25 years. Pastor Steve is the producer and technical director of Murakami Music Ministries. Bette has written numerous children’s musicals and worship songs that have been performed over the years for schools, churches and community audiences. Bette writes Christian music and dramas for all seasons to encourage children and adults to worship and use their talents in the performing arts. Her most recent original children’s Christmas musicals; The Shaking Shepherds, Chef Louie Extraordinaire, and A Christmas Tree Story along with the “Spring Night of Praise” performances have drawn audiences of 800 – 1000. She has written children’s musicals that celebrate Easter, Mother’s Day, and Thanksgiving in addition to musicals which focus on Missions, Outreach and Creation. Her passion for writing is rooted in her desire to put scriptures to music for children to learn. Pastor Steve and Bette Murakami have 4 children, 2 daughter-in-laws and 2 granddaughters. The Murakami Music Ministry team is available for children’s workshops, summer drama camps, and as family legacy speakers for retreats and conferences on topics relating to, “Building Strong Marriages and Healthy Families”. Together they will provide music resources and family encouragement to schools and churches.
