This National Apprenticeship Week, we’re proud to celebrate the progress and dedication of our future industry leaders! 🎉

The Pool & Spa Apprenticeship and Training Committee (PSATC) is excited to recognize two major milestones in our Pool Service Apprenticeship Program:

Our 6th cohort of apprentices has officially completed their one-year program and is now in the process of final approval for graduation both on the state and national level. Their hard work, commitment, and growth over the past year have been nothing short of impressive.

Meanwhile, our 7th cohort is already making strides; recently completing their OSHA-10 certification course, an important step in building a strong foundation of safety and professionalism in the field.

At PSATC, we’re committed to developing skilled, knowledgeable, and safety-focused pool service professionals. Congratulations to all our apprentices for their achievements—we can’t wait to see what you accomplish next!

Our CEO, David Hawes, was on the ground last week leading a business class for local pool pros in Clovis, CA—bringing real-world insight straight to the field.

Dave also just wrapped up his 10-hour business course series last night with our Cohort 7 PSATC apprentices, diving deep into what it truly takes to succeed in the pool service industry.

From understanding operations as an employee, to thinking like an employer, to delivering value and great customer service from the client’s perspective—this training is all about building well-rounded professionals who know the why behind the work.

Because great pool service employees don’t just maintain pools—they understand the business behind them.

We’re proud to recognize two of our ongoing and incredible educational partners, HASA, Inc. and Orenda Technologies!

As leaders in the pool and spa industry, HASA provides high-quality water treatment solutions including liquid chlorine, muriatic acid, and a full range of essential pool chemicals that keep water clean, safe, and balanced. Through Orenda Technologies, they also deliver innovative products and a science-based approach to water chemistry—helping professionals better understand and manage water quality.

We’re especially grateful for their commitment to education. PSATC apprentices benefit from Orenda’s in-depth water chemistry courses, along with multiple live training sessions led by Terry Arko from HASA. These sessions give apprentices the opportunity to learn directly from an industry expert, ask questions, and build real-world knowledge they can apply in the field.

Congratulations to Cohort 7 PSATC Apprentices on earning their Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification!

They’re off to a strong start in their apprenticeship, gaining essential knowledge in safety, water quality, and professional pool operations while building a solid foundation for success in the industry.
