Americorps NCCC, Gold One, Class 19 We are a team of 7, 18-24 year-olds devoting ten months of our lives to national service. Round Three: TBA

We travel as a team to projects in the western United States as well as prepare for disaster deployments throughout the country. Round One: We lived and worked in Coney Island and Breezy Point, New York helped with disaster relief efforts after Superstorm Sandy. For the majority of our five week deployment to the east coast, we had the opportunity to work with Habitat for Humanity of Westchester a

nd mucked and gutted homes that had been flooded in the Rockaways and Breezy Point, NY. Round Two: We are living in Coos Bay, OR until the third week of March, working with the Oregon Coast Community Action Agency (ORCCA). Projects include: sorting and preparing bulk orders in the Food Share warehouse, supporting lead teachers in the Head Start program classrooms, maintaining school gardens as part of the Great Afternoons program, and developing an interpretive natural area next to the ORCCA offices.
