Good afternoon, Eich families,

Today is a wonderful day filled with great news. On Wednesday, I received an email from the State Superintendent notifying us that Eich has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious 2026 Distinguished School Award.
As some of you may remember, Eich has earned this recognition before, most recently in 2013, and before that in 1999. This means that in the past 27 years, Eich has received this honor only three times, making this achievement especially meaningful for our school community.

There are three categories for this award—Exemplary High Achievers, Achievement Gap Closers, and Beacons of Opportunity, and Eich was recognized in the category of Exemplary High Achievers. Schools do not apply or register for this recognition; rather, they are selected based on their performance and impact.

We are incredibly proud that Eich is the only school in our district to receive this distinction in 2026. This recognition reflects the extraordinary efforts of our students, staff, and families, who work together every day to create a school community focused on excellence, support, and opportunity for all.

The pride we feel in this work is matched only by our gratitude. We are thankful for the opportunity to build strong relationships with our students and for the partnership we share with our families. While we remain committed to this work with or without recognition, we are deeply honored by this award and proud to share it with all 997 of our students, our 80+ staff members, and every Eich family who helps make our school so special.

We have a spirit week coming up on 2/23-2/27! Remember to dress up and show your school spirit!!!

Calling all families! We’re excited to invite you to Eich’s IB Information Night on February 12, from 6pm to 8pm. 🏫 ✨

Our students and staff have prepared immersive demonstrations that show what it means to be an IB school, from ballroom dancing, drumline, and band, to a live World Language lesson, Drama monologues, and students working on woodworking projects in our shop class. Our teachers will also be available to answer your questions about Eich’s support services and advanced programs.

Last night at the Elks Lodge, Eich students picked up awards, certificates and gift cards for their essays on Americanism. So grateful for the Elks Lodge and a huge congratulations to our 23 students who were honored tonight!! Kind and smart! Is there a better combination!?? We are Eich!!

It’s time!!!!! Eich Middle School’s annual IB Information Night is on February 12th from 6-8 pm. We will start in our gym and then get ready to be impressed! We will have 150 Eich students on campus giving tours to parents, performing in the quad and working on projects in classrooms so you can see all the amazing programs that Eich has to offer! All are welcome to attend to get more information about our kindness campus, our IB program, our VAPA classes, and our advanced classes that we offer. We do as that you RSVP here but it is not needed to attend. Thank you!
