learn to carve a rubber stamp, then make a holiday (or whatever occasion) card (or three, or five) using your stamp plus a variety of hand-carved stamps from my personal collection!

students will go home with their custom rubber stamp, an instructional zine, and the DIY greeting cards they made + envelopes.

this class is suitable for artists of all skill levels!

all materials provided.

optional suggested items: sketch book, your favorite pen &/or pencil and a design or word you’d like to carve

explore the inner landscape of your mind & learn a relaxing abstract drawing technique to incorporate into your creative practice.
this ultra beginner-friendly art process was designed by russian psychologist pavel piskarev to “link the conscious with the subconscious” in a meditative drawing style.

disclaimer: though i am trained as a counselor,
i am *not* a therapist and am not formally trained in art therapy. i have been using this technique in my own creative practice and enjoy the flow state i experience through the process; i want to share how simple it can be for anyone to create compelling, beautiful, and deeply personal art.

while supplies will be provided, bringing some of your own coloring tools (markers, pencils, crayons, pastels, inks, etc) for maximum enjoyment is highly encouraged!

in this hands-on workshop, you will learn the simplicity, affordability, & creativity that is sauerkraut!

no special equipment or skillz required!

students will go home with a jar of kraut, an instructional zine, and the skillz to transform their kitchen in a lactobacillus nursery… wait that sounds weird… a delicious warm home for yeasts and happy microorganisms that makes yer gut real happy! lol

please bring the following to class:

[ ] cabbage, any kind.
PLUS: carrots &/or fennel bulb &/or garlic &/or ginger

AND:

[ ] cutting board & knife
[ ] large bowl
[ ] 24 oz glass jar, narrow-mouth
[ ] a washed stone that fits inside the mouth of the jar

a simple lil spotted banana

that was also my first time using colored inks outside of a class setting. printing with only black ink for the last year-ish has been a satisfying process, but my color-seeking eyeballs have been starved for pigment!
super stoked for the ideas this process is inspiring!
