The City of Trees Parade will be a spectacular cultural showcase, uplifting the diverse and beautiful culture of Sacramento through the expression of MARDI GRAS! On Saturday, February 26, the family-friendly parade will roll through Downtown and Old Sacramento. The resplendent parade will include: floats, art cars, marching bands, poi spinners, brass bands, dancers, beads, and more!

We'll have food trucks and bathrooms on the parade route, and Louisiana Sue's own Mardi Gras party will be happening in the Freeway Gardens of Old Sacramento, with drinks, traditional Louisiana foods, and live music!

Follow Krewe of Trees] to hear more about the thrilling performers, the rare and exciting Mardi Gras "throws," and celebrity guests! See ya there!

******Calling All Performers, Performing Groups, Bands, and Orgs…*****

Dear Friends,
I am sending this out to alert you to the City of Trees Parade, a spectacular cultural showcase slated to happen in Downtown Sacramento and Old Sacramento on Saturday February 26th, 2022. It's the Saturday before Mardi Gras, and this will amount to perhaps the biggest Sacramento Mardi Gras ever.

Wide Open Walls, Sacramento NAACP, and Sacramento Valley Spark are partnering with the Curiosity Collaborative to pull off this massive parade, and they are reaching out to Sacramento's diverse performance and art community to find the most spectacular things to feature. There IS an artist fund available, so you can apply to receive funding for your act.

The form to apply and to learn more about the parade is here: Tinyurl.com/SactoGras22

So far the parade is looking to have marching bands, brass bands, art cars, dancers, fire spinners, floats, a rolling stage with a band, beads and maybe a celebrity king and queen! The parade is focused on uplifting diversity and culture in Sacramento, and they are using recycled beads from New Orleans to minimize plastic waste.

You can add your wonderful act to the parade, promote your group or organization, and help us build our pride in our beautiful city. For questions, please contact [email protected].
