Today, we join the nation in celebrating Juneteenth, honoring the resilience, culture, and history of Black Americans. As Lasallians, our mission calls us to build an inclusive community where the dignity of every person is protected. True freedom requires ongoing action for justice, equity, and educational excellence for all. Let us reflect on history, stand together against racism, and continue building a more equitable world.

Teacher Feature: Summer Staff Edition ☀️
Mr. Ramon Trejo, Summer School Admin & Dean of Students

Our first summer staff shoutout goes to Mr. Ramon Trejo. During the year Mr. Trejo serves as our Dean of Students who oversees student discipline, emergency preparedness, and security staffing. However, over the summer, you will see Mr. Trejo overseeing all youth camps for our future falcons and friends. Christian Brothers proudly recognizes Mr. Trejo as a man of integrity, service, and student-driven impact in our community.

Mr. Trejo began his passion for education back in high school through the Upward Bound program. As a recipient of these resources, he was able to take advantage of college preparatory programs for first generation students. In college he graciously gave back to the program in counseling, teaching, and resident advising positions. This first taste of service was all Mr. Trejo needed. As he explains, “ Being of service is what I identify most with…it’s the most important value in my life. My wife and I work to instill it in our children and the students I work with.” Through many roles in education both at CB at previous schools- administration, dean of students, coach, athletic director, league commissioner- Mr. Trejo has put his values into action.

Our community continues to benefit from the diligent work of Mr. Trejo in his various roles on campus. He had this to say about his transition to CB from his previous schools. “ The culture shock of maturity and good will from the students on day one was evident. Everyone was welcoming. I was able to lean on my administration team for support and they were able to lean on me”. Christian Brothers is fortunate to have such quality people in faculty and staff.

When not at CB, Mr. Trejo enjoys time with family- cheering on his LA teams (Rams, Dodgers, and Lakers), tackling DIY projects and renovations, or lining up at Kogi taco truck.

Thank you for your continued service and dedication to our campus and community! We love Mr. Trejo!!!

May Teacher Feature: Mrs. Courtney Hendry

Celebrating her 12th year at Christian Brothers High School, Mrs. Hendry is known for her sense of humor, love of the arts, and willingness to take on new challenges. Before becoming CB math department chair and Personal Finance expert, Mrs. Hendry attended Loretto High School, where she was involved in every student activity you could think of! Volleyball, basketball, track and field, visual arts, performing arts - you name it, she was there! Mrs. Hendry attended every dance during her time at Loretto and she was even the choreographer for the homecoming week dance competitions. When she began her career in Catholic education, she even returned to Loretto to work as a math teacher and Assistant Director of Admissions until its closure in 2009. When it closed, Mrs. Hendry was able to find home in Christian Brothers High School, her now honorary alma mater.

“Christian Brothers embodies the catholic values I live in my personal life and teach my kids,” states Mrs. Hendry. “With the five core principles as the guiding light of our mission here, I find solace in working here. We create a safe space for students to thrive and become who they need to be.”

Mrs. Hendry’s coursework at CB has included algebra, geometry, and Personal Finance but outside of the classroom, she has also served as the moderator for Robotics, Econ, Faithful Americans, Kairos leader, Eucharistic Minister, Liturgy Coordinator, assistant to the Campus Minister, and rally teacher participant extraordinaire. With two daughters currently attending CB, Mrs. Hendry feels pride in knowing her kids will graduate as young women with a foundation in Lasallian values before stepping foot into the world beyond CB. Now that summer is here, you can probably find Mrs. Hendry binge-watching “Younger”, listening to a good audiobook about the Gilded Age, or attending Broadway Sacramento shows. Thank you, Mrs. Hendry, for being a part of the CB community - we are blessed to have you! ❤️💙
