Want to encourage students to produce their personal best? Try highlighting a student exemplar. ⭐

Select a piece of scholar work and share it with the class—but don’t stop at, “Look how great this is!”

Be specific about WHY it’s a strong example:

📝 “Notice how carefully the letters are formed.”
🔎 “Look at how they went back and checked their work.”
💭 “I can tell they really took their time here.”
⭐ “This is a great example of giving your personal best.”

When we name the behaviors and strategies that made the work successful, we give every scholar a clear picture of what they can work toward.
