DarlaTheTeacher Hello, I am Darla the Teacher, an Early Childhood Educator, and the Queen of ECE!

I created this site for Early Childhood professionals, to give them the opportunity to share classroom ideas, discuss themes and socialize in a caring environment with other Early Childhood Educators.

Respect and take care of things, By Cheri J. Meiners Ages: 4-8
At a school where I worked, our class expectations were: Be kind and Friendly, Be safe and Healthy and Be Respectful. I used to tell the students that being respectful was how they kept the classroom, and that taking care of the toys was part of being respectful. That's what this book is all about. Sloppy Joe, By Dave Keane
Joe is very sloppy, he eats with his mouth open, doesn't clean his room and drops food on the floor. One day he decides he wants to be Clean Joe, so he cleans up his clothes and his room and helps his family by setting the table and looking after them while they are sick. He finds out that no matter if he is Sloppy Joe or Clean Joe his parents think he is an extraordinary kid. For more go to-https://amzn.to/4mfEnsE

Interrupting, By Joy Berry- Age Range, 5 - 7
This book talks about how you make others feel when you interrupt them, and how important it is to treat people like you would like to be treated. I like this book for preschoolers, except the captions could be a little distracting.

Bullying in Early Childhood
Not all aggressive acts are forms of bullying. Bullying is typically
defined as repeated aggressive actions performed by a domineering
person toward a more vulnerable individual. Bullying has detrimental
long-term effects for both the bully and the victim. Research
has shown that bullying behavior is present and detrimental in
young children as well. However, bullying in early childhood looks
considerably different than in older children (Saracho, 2017). To read more send me your email address and I'd send it to you.
