LECS - Law Enforcement Candidate Scholars' Program

Today, LECS students visited the San Francisco Police Department, where they toured the tactical building, headquarters, and marina. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the experience.

Officer Haden and Officer Becker of the Sacramento Police Department led an important workshop on managing stress in law enforcement, helping students better prepare for their future careers.

Sacramento Sheriff’s department led LECS final workout this semester. We are looking forward to our trip to the San Francisco Police Department next week.

LECS students partipated in chp Explorer competition last weekend. Sac State/ Lecs competed in and won in the Obstacle course competition and the PELLETB written exam competition. Great job for a first time entry into the competition of 32 teams.

LECS had a great evening attending a Sacramento river cats game. It was a fun time as they prepare to participate in the CHP Explorer games Saturday and Sunday. GO LECS!

LECS students participated in an academy experience hosted by the Sacramento Police Department.

Students participated in de-escalation and use-of-force training with the Sacramento Police Department and the Elk Grove Police Department. This training is fundamental to their success as future law enforcement officers.

Last workout of the semester was conducted by Sacramento Sheriffs Department. Students finalized their scenario training for their upcoming event at the California Highway Patrol academy.

The workshop conducted by Officers Grace Weaver and Gustavo Diaz of the Sacramento Police Department focused on use of force, as well as firearm retention and safety. It was a very informative instructional session.

Sacramento Police Department led one of the last workouts as we head towards graduation. Everyone is coming together.
