I love watching and his amma's cooking videos. Most of the recipes remind me either of my Amma or nostalgic restaurants that we have been to ask kids. This recipe they shared is inspired from woodlands drive in that we used to frequent with my mamma, akka and family during summer holidays. All crammed into a small car including the trunk..fun times. I remember eating brinji rice and cutlets there. Thank you Aunty for a fabulous recipe. I followed the recipe to the T. The only change was seeraga samba rice instead of Basmati.

Every time I look at these pictures, I’m transported right back to summer holidays in India. I miss the early morning temple bells, the smell of fresh coffee, and our cook asking what I’d like to eat — simple moments that shaped so much joy.

However far we are, the heart still yearns for the flavors, the traditions, the chaos, the comfort — there’s truly nothing like home.

And yes — I know I’m super late posting these… but life happens. Grateful for the memories, and already dreaming of the next trip back.
