Rocklin Unified and Whitney High School officially cut the ribbon on the newly renovated Wildcat Stadium and Press Box ahead of Friday's varsity game!

The $2.06M project was a team effort, including a special collaboration with WHS Graphic Design Career Technical Education (CTE) students who brought the field and track art to life!

Renovation Highlights:
- Field & Track: Brand new turf and pad, regraded field, upgraded drainage, and fresh field goal/track paint.
- Press Box: Modernized with new windows, tables, flooring, ceiling tiles, and paint.
- Fan Experience: Upgraded LED stadium lighting for game nights under the lights! 💡

Huge thanks to the RUSD Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations team for completing this project ahead of schedule to get our campus ready for game day.

Funding from Measure D would require strict fiscal protections, including:
● Independent audits and a citizens’ oversight committee
● All funds would be spent on RUSD facilities and schools
● A detailed project list would designate the projects for which bond funds can be spent
● No funds could be used for administrators’ salaries or benefits

If voters approve Measure D, RUSD would be eligible to receive about $82 million in State matching funds that would otherwise go to other school districts. To date, Rocklin Unified has successfully leveraged $97 million in matching funds from previous bond measures that would not have been available had voters not passed those bonds.

At the August 26, 2026 Board Meeting, the Trustees welcomed the newest Administrators to Rocklin Unified and thanked them for the work they do to serve students, staff and families.

Mike Henderson (picture 1) was introduced as the Associate Superintendent of Human Resources. Mike brings extensive experience as an educator and district leader.

Theresa Prestedge (picture 2) was introduced as the Director of Special Education and Support Services. Theresa has been serving the district as the Assistant Director of Special Education and will continue to lead her team in this new role.

Melissa Garcia (picture 3) was introduced as the new Assistant Director of Special Education. Melissa adds a wealth of knowledge, skills and support to her department.

Katelin Nettnay (picture 4) was introduced as the new Principal of Rock Creek Elementary School. Katelin proudly joins the district as an experienced educational leader.

Our classrooms and campuses should be just as future-ready as our students. Modern, safe facilities—and expanded Career Technical Education programs—will give students the hands-on skills, real-world experience, and confidence to take on college, careers, and the workforce. If passed by voters, Measure D would:

● Expand and modernize career technical education (CTE) facilities to better prepare
students for jobs after high school.
● Repair or replace leaky roofs and deteriorating plumbing and sewer systems.
● Make health, safety, and security improvements throughout RUSD school classrooms
and campuses.
● Replace outdated heating and air-conditioning systems and inadequate electrical
systems.
● Construct new classrooms to replace outdated portable classrooms.

The Rocklin Unified Board of Trustees recognized Sutter Health at the August 26, 2026, Board Meeting for the "Stop the Bleed" trainings. Sutter Health has provided Rocklin Unified staff with essential emergency response skills. Sutter also trained Rocklin Elementary students for several years so they're better prepared to help in emergencies. The district is thankful for the partnership with local medical educators for their commitment to the safety and well-being of Rocklin campuses.

On June 10th, the Rocklin Unified School District Board of Trustees unanimously voted to place Measure D, a $288 million school improvement bond measure, on the November 2026 ballot to fund repairs and upgrades to our local schools. Measure D is projected to cost approximately $59 per $100,000 of a property’s assessed value (not market) while bonds are outstanding. Based on current projections, it is unlikely that the current tax rates would increase as a result of Measure D. If voters approve Measure D, RUSD may issue new bonds before the existing bonds are fully paid off. However, no debt service payment on the new bonds would be due until after the final payment on the current bonds in August 2028.

During the August 26, 2026 Board of Trustees Meeting, Ginny Gunther from Spring View Middle School (picture 1) was recognized for her long-standing dedication and presence as a Parent Club leader. Ginny continues to service the students and staff with compassion, organization and generosity.

Kirsten Garcia from Antelope Creek Elementary (picture 2) was recognized for her leadership in the Specialized Teaching Program. Kirsten creates an empowering classroom where students learn to thrive with confidence and independence.
