My 21-year-old daughter HATES making phone calls.
Me – Hey babe, you need to call the insurance company and file the claim for your car accident
D – I’ll use the app
Me – sigh and eye roll
Me – you’ll have to talk to them sometime
D – I’ll use the app
So, she used the app AND the first thing the insurance company did was call.
Why is it so hard to pick up the phone?
Technology!?!
Not to knock Technology all together – it has many wonderful uses.
However…
If all you do it type to ‘talk’ it becomes really scary to ACTUALLY talk.
𝗔𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 - 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲.
𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹.
It’s not that you can’t do it. You just have to practice. It gets easier over time.

𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿…
Do you need a car? Are you staying at home or moving out? Do you know what your expenses will be – phone, internet, car insurance, food, fun…? How much do you need to save?
I could ask these questions all day, though I think you get the point and I can stop now.
𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 - 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁?
Here’s the reason I ask (no, not to freak you out) –
You need to know your expenses, so you know how much money you need to make.
AND,
If you can’t get a job that makes that much money, you need to know how to adjust your expenses.
𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 - 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲!
Maybe you can’t move out right way.
Maybe you can move out but have to have 2 roommates.
Maybe you have to cut WAY back on eating out.
𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂? If so, you’re not alone. Budgets scare most of us or at least make us uneasy.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀, 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲. You just work the numbers and adjust.
You remember you can absolutely do this.
The best part – it feels FANTASTIC when you do it!
