Want to take a long sailing trip in January in warm water but have to work? Can you work remotely? Wonder what it's like living on a sailboat? I have a deal for you!

S/V Jane'O, a 39' privilege catamaran with 4 cabins, now has Starlink. She's currently in Puerto Vallarta getting some fresh paint both on the sides and her bottom. Our schedule has us depart PV on the weekend of January 8th, anchoring in various places, and ending up in Ixtapa on the weekend of the 22nd. This is some of the most beautiful and safe parts of the west coast of Mexico. It's also quite comfortable this time of year (highs around 80).

We'll primarily be sailing on evenings and weekends, and anchoring with high speed internet during the normal California work week. Zoom works great. I'd like to anchor in Yelapa, Punta Ipala, Bahia Chamela, Paraiso, Bahia Tentacatita, Cuastecomate, Melaque, Barra de Navida, Ensenada Carrial, Bahia Santiago, Bahia Manzanillo, and finally stop at the marina in Ixtapa, so we'll be doing some after-work sailing on some nights.

As of this moment, there are two open cabins, one that sleeps two (first class!) and another that sleeps one (steerage class). This can change quickly, so please verify availability with me beforehand.

Requirements: Junior rating or better. Be friendly and follow instructions. Seniors preferred over Juniors. Also required: Proof of full vaccination + booster and a current passport. Recommended: C card for diving, otherwise snorkel.

Start location: MQ62+8J Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico
Nearest airport: Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR)
Arrive: Fly to PVR on January 7. Flights are around $300.
End location: M98M+8M Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, Mexico
Nearest airport: Aeropuerto Internacional de Zihuatanejo (ZIH)
Depart on or before January 28th.
Cost: Shared costs: Fuel (probably $100, could be $300) Internet ($50) Food (Less than Bay Area), some marina fees, and other miscellaneous expenses. Overall this would be the cheapest "vacation" you can take while not using any vacation time from work.
