When I started The Joyful Harp page three years ago, I thought I understood how it works. Then one day last year, suddenly everything was different and I couldn't even figure out how to post. The feed was suddenly too full of ads to even see if there were any posts from actual people. Today, though, I'm determined to find out how to resurrect it! It is my preferred place to share music! Right now, I'm working on some 14th c. Spanish music using Roselyn the Tiny Harp. As soon as I figure out again how it all works, I'll post a sample.

Not exactly a harp event, but it will feature a harp prelude: the hymn "Crown Him with Many Crowns" arranged by my teacher Joanna Mel.

Here's something that was recorded several years ago, with flautist Danika Gooch. It is a piece, "Advent Song", written by my vicar Fr. Peter Rodgers.

I'm very excited that Renaissance Choir Sacramento is back! We are busy preparing for a traditional Lessons & Carols service at St. John's in Roseville. Come celebrate the season with Renaissance music. There will also be a suitably joyful harp solo on the program.

I love it - FaceBook thinks The Joyful Harp is a restaurant. They keep sending me pointers for getting my menu online. 😆

Fields of Gold 03/26/2021

I've already posted this weeks ago on my main page. However, perusing my The Joyful Harp page, I realized I needed to get something that wasn't Christmas--y up here!!

I made the decision some months ago to "go back to the beginning" and learn correct classical harp technique. I've been working with a wonderful teacher, Joanna Mel. It's been a bit hard, though, to go back to being a total beginner! So it was really wonderful to get 3 Christmas cards that mentioned how much joy my harp playing has brought to people!! I'm really feeling inspired now!
