Harjit Kaur passed her citizenship interview yesterday! Congratulations!

I prepared her Naturalization application, and we filed her papers in April 2025. Her initial interview was scheduled in December 2025, but got canceled. She received another interview notice a few weeks ago.

Harjit worried about Civics questions: 100 or 128? Since her application was filed before October 20th, 2026, I kept telling her that she needed to study 100 Civics questions.

I practiced mock interviews with her multiple times (at her request). I have to say: it was a pure pleasure working with her, since she was a very diligent client. She knew ALL of the N400 terms perfectly!

I was 100% sure she would pass her interview with flying colors, and she did!

It was a long and worrisome journey, but we did it!
I am very proud of her and her husband, Gurdev Kahlon, who was also my client before her.

ИЗМЕНЕНИЯ В СОБЕСЕДОВАНИИ НА ПОЛУЧЕНИЕ ГРАЖДАНСТВА

Если вы подадите заявление на получение гражданства США до 18 октября 2025 года, вам по-прежнему придётся сдавать старый тест по истории и правительству, состоящий из 100 вопросов. В ходе теста вам зададут 10 вопросов, и вы будете считаться сдавшим его, если ответите правильно на 6 из 10.
Начиная с 18 октября, тест будет состоять из 128 вопросов. На собеседовании вам зададут 20 вопросов, и для успешной сдачи вам необходимо будет ответить правильно на 12 из них.

CHANGES IN CITIZENSHIP INTERVIEW

If you apply for U.S. citizenship within the next 30 days, you will still be taking the old Civics test, containing 100 questions. During the test you will be asked 10 questions, and you pass if you answer 6 out of 10 correctly.
In 30 days, the Civics test will have 128 questions. You will be asked 20 questions at the interview, and you have to answer 12 correctly to pass.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services reminds the public that we offer immigration services that may help people affected by extreme situations, including the invasion of Ukraine.

The following measures may be available on a case-by-case basis upon request:

Changing a nonimmigrant status or extending a nonimmigrant stay for an individual currently in the United States. If you fail to apply for the extension or change before expiration of your authorized period of admission, we may excuse that if the delay was due to extraordinary circumstances beyond your control;Reparole of individuals previously granted parole by USCIS;Expedited processing of advance parole requests;Expedited adjudication of requests for off-campus employment authorization for F-1 students experiencing severe economic hardship;Expedited adjudication of petitions or applications, including employment authorization applications, when appropriate;Consideration of fee waiver requests due to an inability to pay;Flexibility for those who received a Request for Evidence or a Notice of Intent to Deny but were unable to submit evidence or otherwise respond in a timely manner;Flexibility if you were unable to appear for a scheduled interview with USCIS;Expedited replacement of lost or damaged immigration or travel documents issued by USCIS, such as a Permanent Resident Card (Green Card), Employment Authorization Document, or Form I-94, Arrival/Departure Record; andRescheduling a biometric services appointment.

Note: When you request help, please explain how the impact of the extreme situations or unforeseen circumstances, such as the invasion of Ukraine, created a need for the requested relief.
