Educators — apply now to be part of the second annual Power of Place European Summer Institute from June 17 – 29.

Research has shown traveling to authentic sites is an effective tool in moving people from empathy to action. In addition to gaining personal insight and knowledge, your students and community will benefit as you bring the lessons and experience home. Application period closes January 22. https://minndakjcrc.org/event/the-power-of-place-2024-jcrc-educator-european-summer-institute/

Apply now for the 2024-2025 Museum Teacher Fellowship program

The Museum Teacher Fellowship (MTF) program at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum develops a national corps of skilled teachers who serve as leaders in Holocaust education in their schools, communities, and professional organizations. Fellows play a vital role in the Museum’s educational outreach efforts.

This year, the Museum will select up to 10 active classroom educators who teach in the United States—from grades 7 through high school—as new Museum Teacher Fellows. These new Fellows participate in the Pines, Sarna, Statfeld Summer Institute for the Museum Teacher Fellowship Program held in July at the Museum in Washington, DC. During this Institute, Fellows are immersed in the Museum’s three areas of expertise: Holocaust remembrance, Holocaust scholarship and education, and genocide prevention.

Fellows receive a $1500 travel scholarship to offset costs associated with attending the initial July institute at the Museum in Washington, DC. The Museum provides lodging, breakfast, lunch, and transportation to and from the Museum on programming days.

During their Fellowship year, new MTFs complete a two-part project: a curriculum review and a professional development outreach project, and receive a $2000 honorarium for their work.

Fellows receive another $1500 travel scholarship for the second July summer institute to offset costs associated with attending the institute.
