▪️ Take the first step.
Your new colleagues may be wary of you, especially if you're joining an established team. It's important to be patient and take the initiative to make contact. Be polite and discreet, start a conversation in the elevator or kitchen, but don't be pushy.

▪️ Follow your mentor.
Typically, newbies are assigned a supervisor who introduces them to the workflow, team, and offers advice. If not, ask the team lead to outline your responsibilities. Don't hesitate to ask questions and clarify any uncertainties.

▪️ Don't try to be friends with everyone.
Your goal is to work and gain knowledge and experience. Do your job efficiently and friends will come naturally. Keep a friendly attitude, but don't prioritize socializing over work.

▪️ Be yourself.
Observe your colleagues, learn about company culture, dress code, and communication etiquette. Don't hide in the corner, be open to communication, and show interest in your coworkers.

▪️ Ask for help.
If you encounter difficulties, ask for advice. It shows your colleagues that their knowledge and experience are valued. In turn, this will help you establish personal connections.

What better way to understand a subject than to learn about its history? In this post, we& #039;ll take a quick look at the origins of software testing and how it became an important profession.

During World War I and II, computer technology was used for military purposes, but not commercially. As technology advanced and companies began trading in foreign markets, quality became a priority, leading to the emergence of software testing as an official profession.

With the rise of personal computers and the need for programs that could run on multiple platforms, demand for quality assurance grew. Today, in the digital age and during the pandemic, when so much of our lives is online, the role of software testers has become even more crucial.

What soft skills do you have?

We know how a tester can get a dream job! Want to know how? Based on our own experience, we have prepared for you a list of most common mistakes that should be avoided when creating a resume:

🧑‍💻The list of desired positions/acquired skills is too long. First, decide what are your main skills, and what kind of work you want to get.
⠀
🧑‍💻Too many positions in work experience section not related to the field in which you are looking to get a job, and QA experience is listed at the end of the section. You need to write about your achievements in order to show your knowledge and skills, but at the top of the section you need to list the experience in IT field that the employer will be looking for.

🧑‍💻Not properly structured. Especially if you did it in Word, without using templates. There are a lot of free resume templates on the Internet, so we recommend you to use one of them. You can go to LinkedIn and see how other specialists list their education and skills. The more professional your resume looks, the more likely it is to attract attention.

🧑‍💻You have not described your key skills and knowledge. Most employers use the skills section as a key element when searching for employees. Therefore, you should list your knowledge about the field in which you are applying for a job.

🧑‍💻Your desired salary is too high. If you are in a junior position— you should not specify it at all. If you still think it is important to specify the desired minimum salary, research the job market in the desired field and then put a number that is more realistic.
