The fourth trimester

What your 6 week follow up appointment should look like before you’re left alone again.

I was shocked and angry to find out how many women did not have this experience for their 6 week appointment.

Postpartum fires me up just as much as pregnancy. I stress the importance for these appointments to my clients. At 7 weeks postpartum I had a massive clot almost taking my life. My appointment was scheduled a few days after this happened due to a full OB schedule.

I keep going back to YOUR PROVIDER. You MUST feel SAFE and know your providers are giving you the BEST care there is. I guide and support my clients through this journey giving then tools to help ask the right questions and care for themselves and baby during this time I’d learning.

Postpartum tips:
🤱🏻Make sure you leave the hospital with a scheduled appointment.
🤱🏻Ask all your questions when your OB is ready to discharge.
🤱🏻Any discomfort and pain express it at your appointment
🤱🏻You can bring baby to appointment
🤱🏻 Make sure to schedule an appointment with you GP after OB.

Phase 1 early labor 1-3 centimeter dilated

Phase 2 active labor 3 centimeter dilated

Phase 3 birthing of baby 7-10 centimeter

What is about. My coworkers won’t let me work.

I was really stressed out this past week trying to get business going, being a , and doing all other things. I was in the mental struggle train.

So busy taking care of everything and everyone around me that it’s taken a toll. Some days are amazing and some days I am just exhausted from the moment I wake up to the money I shut my eyes. What I like to call on survival mode. Just doing what needs to be done and pushing through.

Dealing with my (siblings born the same year) is a job on its own and since they’re in it’s an active one. I am forever grateful to be home and care for them and have the luxury of working a business. Wearing so many hats that you just keep them all on. My kids schedule leave me but one day of rest which I’m not resting.

Sometimes this can leave you feeling under appreciated, over stimulated, and hypersensitive.

3 tips to help ease this:
✅communicate effectively your wants, needs, and expectations
✅ask for help
✅be nice to yourself- take a minute just to breathe in and out.

Affirmation and dilation visual ❤️

Here is my thing I like to be prepared before I do things. Birth was one of them because I would always be afraid of pushing out a baby. Let’s be real how the heck k is a baby suppose to come out without pain!

My first pregnancy was traumatic to the point I didn’t want kids anymore. It felt like it would last forever.

Second pregnancy was so quick I got to the hospital was told I was 8cm dilated no meds and push. 😖😲

Third I decided to be as comfortable as possible and enjoy the ride. Also quick pregnancy but much more relaxing.

Now don’t get me wrong pushing baby is not an easy task but with the right people around you and the mentality of this will not last forever is what got me through.

As a doula I support you during your pregnancy and in your birth. Working together to help the process be as calming as can be.

✅You want music
✅You want dimmed lights
✅Want candles (flames less)
✅You want pressure points massage
✅Different positions
✅Medicine ball
✅Walk or dance

I’m there to provide and serve you to help this journey in life not be traumatic. This is why I do this. I don’t want women having the experience I had the first time but the experience I had during my last. Regardless if it’s there or virtually.

Having an experienced, non-judgmental Doula during your pregnancy is WAY BETTER than going down a rabbit hole on Google when you're a new mom-to-be.

There are so many questions that can come up as the day goes along, and your doula can calmly give you evidence-based answers as you go throughout your day.

This can save you a ton of time, energy and worry!

Doulas are not medical experts, but we are very knowledgeable about "what's normal and what's not" when it comes to pregnancy and after.

Did you Google a lot of things and find scary answers when you were pregnant or home with a newborn?
