Our Computer Science Foundations students at Grainger High School are leveling up! 🚀

Last week, they successfully hand-coded their own structured, stylized webpages using HTML and CSS. To take their projects a step further, students had the opportunity to leverage the power of artificial intelligence by engineering prompts to integrate fully playable JavaScript mini-games, like Snake and Flappy Bird, directly into their sites. 💻🌐

We are incredibly proud to see these students mastering core Tennessee web development standards while adapting to the future of AI-assisted coding!👏

This week, we’re celebrating Kailey Walton, a senior at Washburn School, who is gaining valuable real-world experience while working at Food City! 🛒💼

Food City is one of our greatest Work-Based Learning partners, and we are so thankful for the way they invest in our students. They employ so many of our WBL students, provide meaningful opportunities to learn and grow, and are always willing to support our students and our programs.

We are grateful for businesses like Food City that recognize the value of giving students a chance to build skills, gain confidence, and experience the world of work while they’re still in high school.

🚀 Investing in Our Future Leaders! 🎓

Earlier in September, our 8th graders from Rutledge Middle School and Washburn School took a huge step toward their futures at the Future Ready Expo at the Great Smoky Mountain Expo Center in White Pine! 🌟

Students had the incredible opportunity to connect directly with dozens of local business and industry professionals from across the Lakeway Area. From exploring exciting career pathways to learning about the specific skills and education needed to achieve their goals, our students walked away inspired and prepared for what’s ahead. 💡💼
