😜 [Massage Therapists] How to maximize your CUPPING results by getting clients to "buy-in"!

Cupping can be intimidating. Frankly, the technique looks like it hurts. 😰 And sometimes it does.

And not everyone wants to walk around with circular hickeys all over their body.

Take Amber for example…

Cupping the biceps tendon in the cubital fossa is NOT comfortable. [See her face?] 🤬 But we were filming my MyoFascial Cupping E-Course, so she dealt with it to get the shot.

To get your clients to TRY and fall in LOVE with cupping, first, you need to get buy-in!

And getting buy-in is all about using the proper PRE-FRAME. 🖼

Pre-framing is like going out on a date. If your friend says “Oh, you have to meet this person, they’re amazing,” you are more likely to be excited about the date. 🥳 That was a positive pre-frame.

If they say, “I set you up on a date. Hopefully you like each other,” then you’re not so excited. And maybe a little turned off. 😣

What you say about CUPPING has powerful implications. Will your client get excited, or be turned off?

Proper pre-framing is also the key behind the placebo effect — that positive subconscious 🧠 response that makes whatever you do feel even better.

So pre-frame cupping using SUPER positive language, so your clients say “I’m excited! Let’s go!” Then, even if it’s a little uncomfortable, they’re in it for the amazing results.

😎 [Massage Therapists] Is CUPPING really the BEST MyoFascial technique?

Here’s a fact… No other massage technique can do what cupping can. What’s that?

SUCK 👀.

Every time we use our hands we have to compress tissue together. 🙌

Swedish, trigger point release, soft tissue release, deep tissue release… It all starts the same way. Press down into the tissue.

But if myofascial layers are stuck together, then HOW can compressing layers together help them become free? 🤷‍♀️

That would be like trying to separate the pages on a wet newspaper 🗞 by squishing the pages together.

Cups DECOMPRESSES. Which is the exact opposite force that we apply with our hands.

Cupping lifts and separates myofascial layers to free adhesions, promote gliding, separate scar tissue, and more.

🚦I know what you’re thinking… What about skin rolling?

But even there, in order to lift the skin you need to compress it between your fingers.

Cupping may just be the best myofascial technique ever. 💪

Want to learn how to perform MyoFascial Cupping to decompress tissue (while taking stress off your hands) ???

Then check out the MyoFascial Cupping E-Course.

🙆‍♀️ [Massage Therapists] What’s the best way to lengthen FASCIA using CUPS?

Some might say you crack open Thomas Myers ‘Anatomy Trains' book… Pick a fascial line… Then apply cups!

BUT fascial lines are everywhere! Why? Because fascia is everywhere.

Lines of fascia are not like concrete roads. They are more like tracks in the snow. ❄️ Appearing only when you move, and disappearing when you don’t.

Any movement made by a human body places tension through a new fascial line. 🤸‍♀️🏌️‍♂️🏋️‍♀️

Yup, fascial lines are CREATED by movement. An infinite ∞ number of movements = an Infinite ∞ number of fascial lines.

Your job is to find your client’s restricted fascial lines and release them.

Applying your cups along the fascial line is only the ☝️ first step.

But then, you must RECREATE the movement that tenses the fascial line you are treating!!

Only then will the cup interact with the fascia to create length along the restricted pathway. 🔥

🔥 [Massage Therapists] What’s Inside the Cup? Blood, toxins, chi, stagnation…?

Does cupping “pull out” bad stuff? Or are cupping marks no different than a bruise. Like a HICKEY. 💋

True, toxins are cleared by our liver and kidneys and excreted in our urine. But can toxins really get pulled through the skin?

If they are a bruise, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Blood contains healing factors. So there are certain instances where causing a bruise is actually helpful.

This is why when doctors perform a tendon repair they purposely cause the bone to bleed — it aids in healing.
