Founders Keepers Cooperative We value the skills and capabilities found in the electives we are pursuing.

For our children, we seek to build entrepreneurial skills, critical thinking, proper socialization, self-sufficiency, integrity, Godly character and personal responsibility. FKC is a parent run organization established to enrich our children’s home schooling experience in a safe and healthy Christian environment. Our goal is to cooperatively assist in the education of our children through non-academic, hands-on enrichment, while facilitating growth and love for God and others.

Our last class day of the session was the definition of bittersweet. 💛

Gardening class wrapped up the year with the cutest fairy gardens and an end-of-year celebration (cupcakes included, of course 🧁).

Performing arts put the finishing touches on their shadow skit for the talent show, and mid-high students completed their art projects—along with any last creative pieces they’ve been working on.

Culinary went all out for Cinco de Mayo with an incredible full meal: tacos, fresh guacamole, Spanish rice, homemade chips, and churros. 🌮✨

Photography class spent the day capturing memories around co-op for the yearbook, which feels especially meaningful on a day like this.

And in between it all… lots of sunshine, laughter, and kids just being kids outside. ☀️

So proud of everything these students created, learned, and experienced this session. What a beautiful way to close it out. 💫

Last week at co-op was one of those days where creativity was everywhere you looked—and then nature decided to join in too 🐢✨

Our upper elementary students got hands-on and made their own instruments (and yes, it got wonderfully noisy in the best way).

Gardening class built a bug hotel, creating a cozy little haven for all the helpful critters in our ecosystem.

Lower elementary had a blast with rocket paintings—lots of color, lots of imagination, and a little bit of beautiful chaos.

Our mid/high students worked on acrylic paintings, and it was amazing to see their creativity and focus come to life on canvas.

Performing arts kept things moving as they worked through a skit and started making props to bring their production to life.

Meanwhile, our nursery friends enjoyed some painting time of their own—because it’s never too early to start creating.

Photography class took a different creative route and made collage posters, combining images and ideas into something uniquely their own.

Culinary class sweetened the day by making a delicious trifle (which definitely didn’t last long 😄).

And just when we thought the day couldn’t get any more memorable… a tiny baby turtle was discovered on the playground 🐢

The excitement was real, and it turned into such a special, unexpected learning moment for everyone.

We had such a special opportunity at FKC last week! 🇺🇸

Our group received an invitation to preview the VA250 Mobile Museum Experience on Friday at the Caroline Visitor Center—and it did not disappoint. This incredible traveling exhibit brings Virginia’s rich history to life in such an engaging, interactive way. The kids (and honestly, the adults too!) walked away inspired, curious, and asking so many great questions.

If you get the chance, you absolutely should go see it for yourself. Check out the schedule at va250.org and make plans to visit this amazing mobile museum while it’s nearby.

Because truly—Virginia history is American history. ❤️

Earth Day at FKC 🌎✨

What a day. Truly one of those this is why we do this kind of days.

We had the most beautiful weather and spent it the best way possible—outside, learning, creating, and just being together. A real-life paleontologist came to visit and brought along an incredible collection of fossils (the kids were completely hooked 🦴). We worked together on a playground cleanup, made flower crowns, tie-dyed t-shirts, painted flower pots, and planted seeds for the season ahead.

There were bubbles floating everywhere, popsicles in hand, and so much laughter. We gathered for a potluck lunch picnic-style on blankets, soaking in the sunshine and community around us.

And of course… plenty of good old-fashioned outdoor play to wrap it all up.

Days like this are something special 💛

Another beautiful day at co-op 🌿

Our gardening class learned all about pollination and how important our buzzing friends are, then put that knowledge into action by creating bee watering stations 🐝💛

Upper elementary dove into poetry and continued working on their collaborative tapestry—it's been so fun watching it come together piece by piece.

Our middle/high students had a mix of creativity and connection today, with some enjoying a laid-back jam session while others focused on woodburning projects and art collages 🎶✨

Days like these are what make our little community so special.

If you’re out and about enjoying a beautiful Saturday, stop by and say hi to some of our entrepreneurship students! They will be working at the market, selling their handmade creations while getting real life lessons in customer service, public speaking, math, digital payment and inventory systems, and experiencing feedback from the public about their products! All earned proceeds go right back into facilitating more hands on lessons and creations, so you can support our group AND help contribute to a students learning journey while taking home a one-of-a-kind piece!

A huge thank you to Dainty Chic Roadside Stand for allowing our students to be a part of her market and affording them the opportunity to expand their entrepreneurial endeavors into the public sphere! We are so grateful for experiences like this and are excited to witness the students getting to see their hard work in the classroom pay off!

Another full and creative day at co-op ✨

Our upper elementary students continued working on their collaborative tapestry and stayed busy creating ribbon wands, friendship bracelets, and clay pieces—so much imagination coming to life in their hands.

Mid/high students slowed things down with watercolor painting and also spent time crafting their leather journals, each one turning into something really special.

In performing arts, students read through their scripts and began building set pieces for their upcoming shadow play—it’s all starting to come together!

Gardening checked in on their growing plants, made adorable grass seed chia pets, and kept preparing handmade items for the market this weekend. We can’t wait to see all their hard work on display!

Photography class learned about taking portraits and had fun exploring around co-op capturing photos of the day.

It’s always amazing to watch their creativity grow right alongside everything else 🌱
