My grown-up little girl joined me today on fieldwork at the aquarium with my students. We had a great time with the kiddos, and I really enjoyed listening to her memories of when I would take her to the aquarium and bio park when she was little. As a mother, every weekend I took my children on adventures where they could go discover, learn and read.

As my students were reading the signs and the names of the fish species, my daughter was right there with them, helping them sound out the words, break them into syllables and learn.

 I have always been a reading teacher, especially with my own children.  I love that some of my daughters, core memories growing up our adventures and reading with me.  I can help your child love reading as well. More importantly, I can share with you how you can create core memories and adventures based on reading with your child.

Boy oh boy, it is the end of the school year busy in first grade. Between field trips, space pirate AR word, treasure hunts, end of the year testing this teacher/tutor is tired. Lol.  I will be getting together the summer offering with in the next few weeks and put that out to enroll students for the summer reading program.  Please understand that life is simply life-ing right now.  I sincerely hope that you and your young learners are having a successful end to a great year of learning.
