CTX Music Academy

Last night, my oldest was given a certificate for achieving “Cycle 2 Memory Master” at Classical Conversations.

If you’re in CC (or even you’re not!!!) and you’d like to join us in *supplementing* next year’s CC curriculum with hands-on activities which promote deeper understanding, conversation, and reinforce over 500 pieces of information for Cycle 3 while also having fun, being creative, and making friends, I would love to have you join us at Schola Domus Petram on Tuesdays in Hutto!

(Subjects include: Bible, recitation, handwriting, Latin, English Language Arts, math, hands-on science, health, art, history, geography, writing, public speaking, and elementary music).

(Cycle 3 focuses on American History, US geography, human anatomy, and chemistry.)

Something that is frequently glossed over in the CTX Music Academy handbook is the fact that diligent practice at home is expected from all who enroll in an ensemble or in private lessons.

The goal is 3.5 hours each week, by the way. That is an average 30 minutes daily. It isn't asking much.

I will make a warning page at the front of the handbook from now on ;)

WARNING: We are pursuing excellence at CTX Music Academy. Please do not sign up for choir, band, or private lessons if you have no intention of practicing outside of rehearsal/lessons.

Laid back classes this coming year that do not require attention outside of group meetings will include Mommy and Me; Elementary Music; and Sacred Harps.

CTX Music Academy has faced a number of challenges making classes make sense at the Round Rock and Cedar Park locations on Mondays and Tuesdays. From my own family's illness one week, to this ice storm, to other extenuating circumstances behind the scenes both personally and business-wise, I had to make a determination yesterday to no longer offer classes at the Faith Baptist Church and Christ Episocopal Church locations.

I greatly appreciate your patience as CTX Music Academy diligently works through these growing pains to bring you a quality music education that glorifies God at locations which work for CTX Music Academy's mission statement and vision.

Please refer to the email that was distributed to current participating families for official information regarding what is being offered in lieu of these changes.

Be advised that there is no remaining partnership agreement or affiliation between CTX Music Academy and The Rock Enrichment Academy. CTX Music Academy prays God always makes TREA's paths straight and blesses them according to His Will and loving kindness.

Due to inclement weather, CTX Music Academy will not be meeting on Monday. All classes and private lessons are canceled and will be made up this semester or a credit added to your account for the summer or next fall.

Tuesday’s classes remain scheduled but may also be canceled depending on road conditions and campus closure.

Due to illness, we will not have CTXMA classes or private lessons on Monday in Round Rock or Tuesday afternoon in Cedar Park.

All classes Tuesday morning in Austin are still pending cancelation.

CTX Music Academy is seeking music educators in the North Austin (Travis and Williamson county) area interested in contract work as piano accompanists, private/group lesson instructors, and band, choir, and/or orchestra directors.

Have a high schooler or college student (or college-aged student) pursuing a music education career? I am interested in getting them plugged in as paid apprentices!
