As a reminder, we are shaking things up this year to accommodate our massive growth. We are moving from our traditional luncheon to a vibrant, come-and-go reception format.

• When: Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
• Where: The Gala Event Center (Please note: The venue strictly prohibits fi****ms on the establishment premises.)

Hi, everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Karina Ortiz, and I am the Founder and Executive Director of Zia Su***de Awareness.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and my master’s degree in Psychology. After losing my dear sister-in-law to su***de in May 2023, I knew I had to do something to bring greater awareness, education, and support to our community.

What began as a thought while I was driving soon became a reality. I reached out to Adriana and she became my partner in all of this. We created this nonprofit to spread love, kindness, hope, support, and to remind others that they are never alone.

A small act of kindness can go a long way. It can brighten someone’s day, restore their hope, and possibly even save a life. Through awareness, education, and compassion, we can make a difference together.

Always remember: You matter. Your life matters. 💜 BE KIND!
